This document provides engineering specifications for electroless and sulfamate nickel plating, including that electroless nickel plating can withstand salt spray testing for approximately 100 hours, operates in a temperature range of -65°F to 550°F, and deposits a thickness of 0.00005 to 0.003 inches per surface, while sulfamate nickel plating deposits a thicker coating of 0.0003 to 0.050 inches that can be machined to fix worn areas.

Engineering Specifications For PolyPlating
Electroless and Sulfamate Nickel Plating
Salt Spray
Electroless – approx. 100 hours
Continuous Operating Temperature Range
Electroless – of coated parts is -65⁰F to +550⁰F.
(intermittent range is -65⁰F to +750⁰F.) Sulfamate Nickel Plating is used to build up Thickness Range areas needing thick applications. These areas are machined after plating. Sulfamate Nickel Electroless - .00005 to .003 per surface Plating may be used to fix worn-out areas, Sulfamate - .0003 to .050 and areas that have been mis-machined.
