B Visual Inspection & Product ID/Marking

Each shipping unit is plainly marked as follows:


A) ASTM designation and grade
B) Size SAES-L-109
B1 C) Name and brand or trademark of the manufacturer Section 12,
D) Number of pieces ASTM Stds
E) P.O. Number
F) Country of Origin
Bolts, nuts and washers are visually checked in a clean area or
warehouse appropriate to ensure items are not fouled by sand and dust
or mixed together. Packaging is opened and the following checks are
performed to assure proper fastener quality: SAEP-351
A) Bolts, nuts and washers are the proper size and grade Para 4.2,
B2
B) Dimensions are checked and lengths are measured from first thread SAES-L-109,
to first thread. The lengths match specification lengths on Section 12
packaging/documents.
C) There is no physical damage to shanks or threads that affect bolt
assembly. The matching nuts spin freely on bolts and studs.
