Introduction

Raymond Ltd. is an apparel and textile company established in 1925. It is also present into
the FMCG, Engineering, and Prophylactics over national and international markets. JK Files
(India) Limited, JK Talabot Limited, Everblue Apparel Limited, Pashmina holdings Limited,
Celebrations Apparel Limited and Dress Master Apparel Private Limited are its subsidiaries.
J.K Helene Curtis ltd (JKHCL) established in 1964 is an FMCG company which is part of
Raymond Consumer Care Pvt Ltd. (Raymond Group). They collaborated to manufacture
cosmetics & toiletries. JKHCL deals with the following brands & products -

1. Park Avenue- Deodorants, Fragrance soaps, Body talc, Beer shampoo, Hair gel,
Shaving gel, Blister shaving brush
2. Premium- Eau de Cologne, Eau de Perfume, Room fresheners, Hand wash.
3. Raymond – Fragrances (Eau de Perfumes)
4. Tru Tone- Hair dyes & hair dye sticks

Raymond Consumer Care also has a second FMCG group under its umbrella- J.K. Ansell
ltd, the manufacturers & marketers of brand Kamasutra (Condoms, Body deodorants, sexual
wellness durables). J.K. Ansell Ltd is a joint venture between Raymond group & Ansell
International which is world’s largest manufacturer of latex products.

Distribution System

1. Primary Sales –Primary sales are done by the company towards the distributor which
ultimately depend on the secondary sales. Once the distributor orders the primary
stock, the primary invoice gets updated in the Distributor Management System
(DMS), containing all the details about the inventory. As soon as the distributor
accepts the invoice the inventory gets updated automatically and gets added to the
present closing stock. JKHCL uses “Bizom” DMS for tracking its sales completely
from the company till the retailers (Primary + Secondary). In urban areas, DMS has
been implemented at each distributor point & for rural, it is at the Super Stockist
point.
2. Secondary Sales- Secondary sales are done by the distributor towards the retailers.
Each distributor has been allotted nearly 5-6 Sales representatives, which follow a
particular beat every day. In urban cities a particular beat is serviced once every week
and in rural areas it is done fortnightly. In JKHCL, a beat consists of around 35-40
outlets, which is in par with other FMCGs. The Sales Rep’s use “Bizom” Sales Force
Automation (SFA) app for taking orders from the retailers. The list of outlets is
shown as per the beat and they take the orders accordingly. When they select a
particular outlet, the sales representatives can see past orders of that outlet and a list of
inventories available with the distributor to which that particular outlet has been
mapped with. They follow real time tracking. The distributors then fulfil the order
from their end and print the invoice. The order is then delivered next day of the day
on which order has been fulfilled by the distributor.

In some parts of the country, the sales reps are not using Bizom SFA. They just go to
their respective beats and bring orders manually. In such cases, the distributors follow
direct counter sale and as it is done by the distributors themselves the orders get
fulfilled directly and are delivered the next day. Thus, the invoices get generated and a
collection ledger is also maintained in the DMS, wherein the distributors can check
the money collection outstanding for the mapped outlets.
