of the customers. It will result to an additional profit for the business if the location is located in
the universities or established in a landmark. Even though there are competitors around the
business, the business should make a better strategy to make it different and to attract the
public.

Service Strategy

Pricing Strategies

In order for a business to survive in a long run, the pricing must cover all operating costs
of the business, plus a rate of a return to the business. Price must support the product, place
and promotion. It is difficult and must reflect supply and demand relationship. Pricing a service
too high or too low could ultimately affects the sales as well as the net income.

Good pricing strategy helps determine the price point at which profits on sale of the
products or services can be maximized. When setting prices, a wide range of factors such as
fixed and variable costs, competition, company objectives, proposed positioning strategies and
target customer base is needed to be considered.

The consultant chose the Competition Pricing Strategy in determining the value of
services offered due to the number of direct competitors. This is setting a price in comparison
with competitors and has three options: price lower, price the same or price higher than
competitors.

The pricing strategy is based from the prices of our competitor’s product to assured
everyone the affordability and the quality of our products and assumed to increased or
decreased depending on the economy’s condition. Promotion and more discounts of services
are available to attract customer. The Salon provides an area for customer to make more
comfortable during waiting time in order to save customer from feeling bore. These areas
provide Magazine, Television and additional food counter inside where can customers could
relax while eating their food.

The services

Women Cave salon provides these following services to customers:

1.Hair Relax
It is a procedure that straightens the hair permanently by breaking down the components
of the hair using various chemicals. It is various since a Hair Relaxer can be Lye-Based or Non-
Lye Based.

Lye is also known as sodium hydroxide which tends to have high pH levels. It can
straighten the hair quite fast, but also, the chances of irritating the scalp whenever we fail to
rinse it right away is much bigger. When we use Non-Lye Relaxers, or chemically known as
Guanidine Hydroxide. We may think that Non-Lye relaxers contain less harsh chemicals, but the
truth is, it’s just as potent and strong as Lye relaxers.

Hair relaxing is very common today since it is affordable, due to the ingredients that it is
composed of. But then, a lot of complaints have been raised due to hair relaxing treatments.
Some of the common effects are hair fall, scalp irritation, dry hair, hair loss, scalp burns and
many more. It is best to go for hair relaxing treatments in salons or hair centers that are
professionally licensed and skilled. The application of the relaxing chemicals requires salon
skills and knowledge and delayed rinsing or improper application, and execution leads to hair
damage.

2.Hair Rebonding

Hair rebonding is done by the application of a solution, (usually a perming solution),

which allows breakage of hair bonds, rearrange the bond and restructure it once again. Strong
chemicals are also used with the process.

When the chemical is applied, the hair tends to loosen its bonds and break. Using a flat
iron, the hair bonds are restructures and then applied with a neutralizing gent that will preserve
the newly structured hair bonds. That is why it is called “re-bonding”. It is an irreversible
procedure. It can also lead to hair damage, when the procedure is not done properly and in the
long run when we do not know how to take care of our rebounded hair.

One tip in hair rebonding is making sure that the iron is the ideal hair iron which could be
ceramic or titanium hair iron. Aluminum hair irons are very damaging to the hair. Also, make
sure that the heat is regulated to not more than 180-200 degrees. Or else, the hair might get
burned and will lead to irreversible frizz of the hair. One important thing to note as well is fact
that the entire process can be very time consuming. Not less than 4 hours for the shortest hair,
and longer for those with longer locks. Also, hair rebonding prices can be a bit costly which can
quite leave a hole in our purse. This is considered as the most economical way of getting
straight hair. This is because we only pay once since the effects are lengthy.

Types of Hair Rebonding

a. Semi Hair Rebond

This process takes less time than hair rebonding. Aside from time, the price is also
cheaper. Unlike hair rebonding, semi hair rebonding gives our hair a natural straight look
because the hair is not that flat. Also, semi hair rebond gives our hair more body.
b. Milk Rebond

This hair straightening process is ideal for chemical treated hair. Milk rebonding was first
introduced in the Philippines by Ricky Reyes. The formula is made of 70 percent milk. The
process does not only give every girl a shiny hair but also brings back hair protein and heal the
hair cuticle.

c. Schwarzkopf Rebonding

It is an innovate thermal long-lasting hair straightening system that permanently

straightens the hair for around 6 to 8 months that gives the hair an amazing smooth and shine.
It gives a perfect looking straight hair that is silky soft touch. It deeply nourishes hair till the roots
and makes them healthier and volumized.

3.Brazilian Blowout

The treatment would certainly soften curls. It is also known to control frizz whenever we
wish especially if we live in areas where we experience high humidity. It is fantastic for
straightening wavy hair. It also adds shine to dull as well as damaged ends due to split ends.
Unlike rebonding, it could additionally last for two to six months according to the type of product
used and the growth rate of hair. It makes hair easy and delicate all day.

4.Hair Cellophane

Hair cellophane is treatment applied to hair. It is a kind of vanish like coat applied to hair
which will give our hair a gloss and shine of its own. It is also known to have properties such as
sealing the hair cuticles and therefore preventing it from getting frizzy. Cellophane is a treatment
that can come in clear coat. All it does is enhance the natural color of your hair and make it
glossy and beautiful. In some cases, the shine has also been described as a glass like clear
sheen. However, we should be aware that cellophane is also a type of hair color. It is no doubt
beautiful, but it is a chemical enhancement to our hair. We need to be aware of this before we
try it. We should also be aware that a typical cellophane treatment lasts for about eight to ten
weeks. In some cases, it may last half this amount of time; depending upon the number of times
we tend to wash your hair. It does wear away with washing regularly. But this does not suggest
that we wash our hair less because we have had a cellophane treatment done.

5.Hot oil

To temporarily repair the damage, a hot oil treatment can help. Most store-bought
varieties require heating, massaging the oil into the scalp and hair, followed by a gentle rinse. A
complete shampoo or over-rinse will defeat the hot oil’s purpose.

6.Hair spa
Hair spa is a new concept for hair rebirth. Hair Spa is a therapy that is essential in
maintaining a healthy growth. It is basically a procedure that helps to make our hair strong,
bouncy and shiny, while simultaneously to deal with dandruff, damaged, and fall control. Today
it is one of the popular and best trends for conditioning our hair to keep it healthy. While this is a
relatively new treatment, it is highly effective, and for the most part of it, quite economical given
its advantages.

7.Hair cut

The hair is cut in different style depending on the customers’ desire.

8.Hair Extensions

The “Hair Extensions” are hair additions that are secured to the base of the clients’ hair
in order to add length to the clients’ hair to add volume, texture, or color.

9.Hair dye/Hair Color

Hair Dye, or Hair Color, is a chemical tool that is used to change the color of a person’s
hair. Hair dye is used mostly to change gray hair, since gray hair is a sign of an advanced age,
Younger people that used hair dye uses it as a fashion statement or simply because they want
to change their hair color.

10.Hair High lights

Hair highlights are often restricted to bright shades with a metallic tint. Highlights consist
of selecting small or thick strands of hair that are then lightened at least 2 shades lighter than
the rest of your hair. Highlights should complement our natural or artificial color. We should
never go more than 3 shades lighter than the rest of your hair color. The object of highlighting is
to give us a sun-kissed look and to bring depth and light to our overall color. One can do hair
highlights at home or under guidance of a professional stylist at a salon.

11.Blow-Dry

It refers to the drying and often the hair with a hand-held dryer.

12.Other Services:

a. Make up

It is a beauty technique used to enhance the appearance of a person.

b. Eyelash Extension

Eyelash extensions are any number of enhancements designed to add length, thickness
and fullness to natural eyelashes.

c. Eyebrow Threading
This technique is ancient form of hair removal that uses only a strand of 100% cotton.
This strand of color is twisted among multiple unwanted hairs at the same time and pulled,
resulting in many hairs being pulled at once. The strand is used three to five times per brow to
remove all hair.

d. Eyebrow Shaping

This is a simple technique of shaping the eyebrow.

Service Procedures

a.) Hair Relax Procedure

1. Decide on the strength of hair relaxer.

2. Put on cape or towel.
3. Start parting the hair in sections. Work with dry hair and divide the hair into 4 quadrants:
front left, front right, back left, back right.
4. Use a rat-tail comb and make 1/8-inch (3mm) sections.
5. Put on gloves to protect hands from the hair relaxer chemicals.
6. Mix the hair straightener product.
7. Apply the relaxer to 1/8-inch (3mm) sections. We will need to use a color brush or a 1-
inch (2.5 cm) paint brush to apply the relaxer to sections. Saturate the hair with the
relaxer. Apply the relaxer to all 4 sections until the hair is completely coated.
8. Use the finger or the back of the comb to work out the curls. Begin at the section we
started with when applying the relaxer. Divide the hair, again, into small sections. An
eighth of an inch (3mm) is fine. Using our fingers, begin to pull the hair to stretch out the
curl. We can use the back of a comb for this as well, just run the flat spine of the comb
along the hair. Repeat this in all 4 quadrants and twice to each quadrant.
9. Leave the relaxer on the hair according to manufacturer’s directions.
10. Rinse the hair in hot water. Hot water opens the hair cuticle, which allows us to rinse the
relaxer thoroughly from the hair. Rinse for at least 5 minutes depending on the length of
the hair.
11. Shampoo the hair with neutralizing shampoo, if required.
12. Use a moisturizing c0nditioner on the hair to help with damaged ends.
13. Dry and style the hair as desired.

b.) Rebonding Procedure

1. Hair is washed with a mild shampoo. No conditioner is applied. Hair is dried completely
with a blow dryer keeping it on the medium level.
2. Hair is separated into parts. The cream softener or relaxant is applied to every hair shaft,
keeping it straight. A thin plastic board is used to keep hair straight.
3. Cream softener or relaxant is kept on hair for at least half an hour or defending upon the
hair type. Keeping out for too long may even harm hair. After that hair is steamed for 10-
40 minutes, depending upon hair type and condition, and then rinsed.
4. Hair is Blow dried and then keratin lotion is applied.
5. A flat iron is used to straighten hair further and break any remaining curls. The iron
should not exceed 180 degrees. A ceramic iron is better than other metal irons. The
salon expert will iron the hair until it is satisfactorily straight and shiny.
6. Hair is again parted, and a neutralizer is applied to set the bonds and stabilize the hair.
7. The neutralizer is kept for at least 30 minutes.
8. The neutralizer is rinsed off with cold water. Hair blow dried and hair serum is applied. A
last touch of ironing is given with the straightening iron. Hair appears silky straight and
shiny.

c.) Brazilian Blow-out Procedure

1. Stylist will shampoo the hair with the Brazilian Blowout specially formulated Anti-Residue
Professional Shampoo to prepare the hair for the optimal smoothing result.
2. After towel drying, the certified Brazilian Blowout stylist will divide the hair into sections
and begin to comb the Brazilian Blowout Professional Treatment through each section of
the hair from root to tip; lightly dusting each section with the solution.
3. Solution will surround each hair shaft with protective protein layers to smooth and flatten
the cuticle.
4. Stylish will then blow-dry the hair as straight as possible with a flat or round brush.
5. Once hair is dry, the Stylist will divide the hair into four sections and begin using a flat
iron to further straighten the hair in 1 – 1 ¾ inch sections.
6. Once completely, the Stylist will rinse the hair (no shampoo), towel-dry and apply the
Brazilian Blowout Masque to further sail in the professional formulation. After 60
seconds, the stylist will rinse the hair once again and towel dry.
7. The Stylist will then apply the Brazilian Blowout Smoothing Serum to further seal the
cuticle and assist in the detangling the hair prior to the final blow dry.
8. The Stylist will then blow dry the hair straight one final time and style as desired.

d.) Hair Cellophane Procedure

1. Section the hair using a comb and making a center part from forehead to nape.
2. Section from the middle part to cover the ear on each side of the head and parallel to the
hairline to create a total four sections.
3. Use butterfly clips to hold each section and take quarter-inch partings starting at the
nape, going from side to side.
4. Apply cellophane product using a brush from root to end to each section until the whole
head is complete.
5. After application, cover the head with a plastic cap and sit under a dryer for 20 to 30
minutes.
6. Remove with a shampoo for color-treated hair and follow up with a conditioner.

e.) Hot oil Procedure

1. Wash the hair with a mild and simple cleansing shampoo.

2. Heat a little Hair magic Oil blend and massage the oil through the hair using the fingers
working all the way down to the root. If we have a dry scalp condition, or even if not for
that matter, we can also massage some of the oil in or scalp to condition the skin.
3. Next wrap the hair in a hot towel and leave for 5 minutes. We can also put a shower
cap over our hair before wrapping our head with the hot towel. This can improve the
process of absorbing the oil.

f.) Hair Spa Procedure

1. Massage the hair and scalp gently with the fingertips with olive oil or almond oil for 10
minutes to prevent dryness. Massaging will reduce hair fall and give shine to the hair.
2. After massaging the hair, we must shampoo the hair. Apply shampoo on the scalp and
hair smoothly and gently with the fingertips for 5-6 minutes and let it stay for 2-3 minutes.
Wash the hair with lukewarm or old water as hot water makes the scalp dry. Always use
a mild shampoo as per hair type.
3. Cover the hair with a thin layer of conditioner and let it stay for 4-5 minutes and then
wash the hair with cold water or lukewarm water. Conditioning is essential to make hair
soft.
4. The last step in hair spa involves applying a hair mask. After applying hair mask, steam
the hair by wrapping the scalp with a towel dipped in warm water to steam. Let the hair
mask on the hair of about an hour and comb the hair with cold water. Let the hair dry
naturally and comb the hair with a hairbrush with thick bristles.

g.) Hair Cut Procedure

1. Wash the hair. Use a shampoo and conditioner made for specific hair type
2. Keep the hair wet if cutting with scissors or razor.
3. Work with dry hair under special circumstances.
4. Separate the hair into sections.
5. Follow the style instruction.
6. Cross-check the cut.
7. Dry the hair.
8. Do final trimming. Cross check the hair again and fix any unevenness. This is also the
time to trim any too-long bangs or remove any extra fullness.

h.) Hair Extension Procedure

1. To install the extensions, the hair should be 5 inches minimum so that the attachment
points are visible. The extensions are applied 5 mm from the scalp.
2. Make the Preparation rows.
3. Select a thin strand of hair using the tail of the comb.
4. Insert the lock of hair in the template circle to protect the scalp. Use hot extension iron to
heat the pre-tipped extensions to natural hair, the hair is fixed to the original lock
extension on heating point of keratin.
5. When the keratin is not transparent, it is rolled between the fingers, so the extension and
natural hair is uniform.
6. Repeat the same steps to put the locks one by one across the head.
7. In the end, the hair is brushed lightly to blend so harmoniously with the natural hair
extensions.

i.) Hair Coloring Procedure

1. Figure out which level our on color is.

2. Determine which strength of developer we should buy.
3. in up our hair using the hair clips. Divide it into sections that are easy to work with. The
hair should be dry.
4. Mix the hair color with the developer in the bowl.
5. Use the applicator brush to start painting on the color mixture. Start about an inch below
the scalp and apply the color down the hair, stopping about two or three inches before
we reach the ends. Work in the sections we pinned up, releasing them one at a time.
6. Return to the scalp and use gloved fingers to work the color mixture into the hair close to
the head.
7. Comb the hair to ensure the dye is applied evenly.
8. Allow the hair color to sit for about 20 minutes. Shampoo the hair and rinse until the
warm water runs clean. Apply a conditioner to immediately start mending any damage
caused to the hair shaft with the developer.

j.) Highlights Procedure

1. Consult with the client about expectations and the desired look. Show hair samples of
available colors. Assess whether client would prefer a subtle, natural look or more
dramatic, chunky highlights.
2. Prepare hair color according to manufacturer directions in a small bowl.
3. Comb through hair. Section hair into right side, back, left side and bangs, if applicable.
Section hair from top to bottom by putting top layers in clips pushed to the side.
Highlights are done from the bottom up.
4. Start with the bottom section on one side of the head. Weave the tail end of the comb
horizontally through the hair. The hair falling over the comb tail will be highlighted. The
fewer strands weave out, the more subtle the highlights will be. Many small weaves will
create an overall lighter look. Thick chunks will create dramatic, chunky highlights.
5. Slide a foil between the two layers of hair separated by the comb. Pull out the comb with
one hand while holding the foil in place with the other.
6. Brush color on the hair on the top of the foil. Cover the entire strand from roots to tip. Do
not be afraid to brush color onto the foil.
7. Fold foil over the hair, with the end close to the scalp. Squeeze all sides closed, isolating
the hair covered in color.
8. Remove the clip holding the top layers of the hair in the section you are working. Repeat
the same process of weaving the tail of the comb through the hair, sliding in the foil, and
brushing color on the hair and folding the foil closed. Continue this pattern for the entire
head, working from the bottom sections up for each part of the head.
9. Allow time for solution to lift the color from the hair, checking a foil every few minutes.
Rub off the colorant with a rag to see how the hair is reaching. Heat can speed up the
processing. If we have a dyer available, have the client sit under it.
10. Pull foils off the hair, when desired color is reached. Wash the hair immediately to
remove all the colorant. Apply ample conditioner to counteract the damaging effects of
bleach.

k.) Blow Dry Procedure

1. Wash the hair. The stylist can use regular shampoo, but for better blow-drying effect and
protection, try washing with a moisturizing shampoo.
2. Towel off the hair slightly, just enough to stop the dripping.
3. Separate the hair into sections. The bigger the section, the longer it will take to dry. It’s
best to go for 4-6 sections but make nothing is tangled.
4. Start blow drying at the top/roots, about six inches away from the scalp. Maintain this
distance throughout, so nothing burns.
5. Work way down, and remember to move the blow dryer around, again, so nothing burns.
6. Leave the hair a little bit damp.
7. Finish with a blast of cold air, to lock in shine. Brush through the hair gently, or de-tangle
it with fingers. If needed, apply a moisturizing or anti-frizz serum and brush it through
evenly.

l.) Other Services:

Make up Procedure

1. Start with sunscreen. A dewy, fresh complexion is sexy and youthful. Starting with a
clean face, apply sunscreen to face and neck.
2. Apply concealer. Dot concealer with your finger to the spots that need it most (under the
eye, along the nose, on the chin). Blend in by patting in, never rubbing, and the
concealer.
3. Apply tinted moisturizer or foundation to the face making sure to blend along the jawline.
Few people need to apply foundation all over the face.
4. Apply blush on the apples of the cheeks. If the customer wants to appear sun-kissed,
apply a bronzer as well.
5. Apply eyeliner to lids. For a basic eye, simply apply liner to the upper lashes and the
lower lashes, smudging along the lower so it doesn’t look drawn on.
6. Apply concealer. If the customer wears eye shadow will melt into the eyelids.
7. For a basic eye, simply apply a base shade on the lid of the eye. Apply a darker
contouring shadow in the crease. Make sure to blend it all in well.
8. Curl the lashes with an eyelash curler.
9. Apply mascara by wiggling the wand from the roots of the lashes on through to the ends.
10. Leave the lips for last. Once the stylist has the customer’s face made up, He/she can
see exactly what type of lip treatment the customer need. The stylist can either fill in lips
with lip liner or apply lip balm or gloss over it, or he/she can line lips first then apply
lipstick. Some women opt for just gloss.

Eyelash Extensions

1. Prepare the client by making sure that her or his eyes are free from makeup and oil-
based skin care products. The lashes especially should be clean.
2. Place the lash extensions that you need on the large make up sponge that can serve as
a palette. Make sure they are separated and easy to pick up using your tweezers. It is a
good idea to wear gloves throughout the eyelash extension procedure.
3. Before beginning, pour a small amount of your eyelash extension adhesive into an
adhesive holder. The end of the lash extension that attaches to the natural eyelash
should be carefully coated with adhesive and then placed on the top of the chosen lash.
Using your tweezers to accomplish this increases the precision with which you can place
the eyelash extension.
4. It takes no more than ten seconds for the bonding adhesive to dry on each lash, so it is
important to become practiced at placing the extensions. If you make a mistake, make
sure that there is some remover handy so that you can remove and discard the
offending extension. Once the bond is made, the lash extensions will resist the effects of
tears, sweat, water, and sun. Make sure, however, to warn the client to avoid water for at
least two hours after the procedure. After that, it is even possible to go swimming while
wearing eyelash extensions.

Eyebrow Threading

1. Gather the materials needed. All that a stylist really need is a piece of thread, but he/she
may wish to draw in customer’s desired eyebrow shape with a pencil or numb the area
with some ice or cold water.
2. Tie the ends of the thread together so they form a circle. Snip off any extra thread
beyond the knot in the thread.
3. Hold the section of the thread with the knot in one hand and hold the opposite section
withy the other hand.
4. Twist the hand without the knot five or six times, while holding the other section of the
tread tightly (this is to avoid getting the knot in the middle of the thread). The thread
should have an infinity or hourglass shape.
5. Practice opening one hand, while closing the other at the same time. The twisting thread
in the middle is what will remove the hair.
6. Hold the hand so the fingers are facing away from customer’s face and position them
over one eyebrow.
7. Place the triangle of the thread, so that the hair the stylist wants to pluck is within the
thread. He/she should be threading against the direction the hair grows, so he/she
should move the point of the triangle opposite the direction the hair grows.
8. Close the hand controlling the triangle around the hair, as he/she open the other hand.
Make sure the thread is still touching the skin, and quickly make the opposite motion
(scissors). The hair should be pulled out.

Eyebrow Shaping

1. Use a lip or brow pencil to heavily draw on the shape the customer wants;
2. The stylist can adjust it with makeup remover as the customers decide on the shape,
he/she want to create.
3. Once the shape is drawn on, tweeze any hairs that fall outside the line of the brow.
4. Next, brush the brows straight up with an old toothbrush.
5. Any hairs that are too long and floppy should be trimmed with small scissors. Tweezing
long brow hairs rather than trimming them can result in gaps in the eyebrow or create a
patchy appearance.
