AGRICULTURAL PORTAL

FOR FARMERS
SYNOPSIS

The ‘AGRICULTURAL PORTAL SYSTEM’ provides its users and researchers to get online
information about the crop, statistical details and new tendency. The trends of the crops act
so that these will be pretty important to the users who access these via the internet. The main
features of the portal system includes information retrieval facilities for users from anywhere
in the form of obtaining statistical information about the fertilizer, land availability, diseases,
suitable soils concentration for the corresponding crops, statistical information about experts
and etc.

The main proposal of the system is to provide help such as to collect compensation from
government for disaster occurred in farming areas, to sale the farmed product easily and also
to collect offers for agriculture from government like free seeds and fertilizers etc.
SYSTEM STUDY
2.3. Existing system
In the existing system the awareness for the farmers is only possible through the man
to man dealing. The awareness programs conducted by the government are not coming as a
beneficial thing to the farmer. Mostly the problems in the agricultural area are not visible in
front of the agricultural experts of the government. A farmer can only ask questions related to
the farming activities directly with the proper communication. When the communication
done through the mobile phones there is a problem in previously communicated activities.
The system can’t help farmer in critical times where access to an agricultural expert is not
forthcoming or due to unavailability of agricultural extension worker in the field.

5 Proposed System
In this project we are providing an interface to the teams to store their data in order to
make awareness efficiently. Through this project farmers are aware of their products features,
cultivation methods, details about pesticides and all the details about current market status for
selling their products, machines, fertilizers, seeds , and their offers too. This system also
provides help in the areas like, to collect compensation from government for disaster have
done in the farming area. This can be done through manual work by the assigned staff by
collecting the proof.

4.1. Module Description


4.1.1 Administrator
The administrator module is the head of the system that have the total control of the
agricultural portal. The administrators have the ability to post or inform about new event and
offers of government in agricultural portal. If any farmer requested for any offer or for any
other compensation the administrator has the power and responsibility for transaction, for
this the administrator assigns any particular staff to cross check which the requested person is
deserved or not. The administrator will provide the help according to report from the
assigned staff. If any farmer requested to buy farmed product the administrator is responsible
to take immediate action. For this he follows the same criteria like assigning particular staff
and taking action according to their report.
4.1.2 Student
The Students can register and login into system. They can ask doubts and can chat
to farmers. And take reply for them.

4.1.3 Farmer
The main consumer of the agricultural portal is the farmer module. The farmer views
events and offers uploaded by the administrator and send responds back if they need that
offer. The farmer can also check the status of the particular request submitted. And also the
farmer can send their farmed product details to the administrator for sale with the amount
expected, the admin will accept the deal or he will suggest an amount as per the market
value, if the farmer is satisfied they can accept the deal otherwise they can reject it. Also the
farmer can communicate with authorised person with the registering complaints an d
messages.
