INSTRUCTION ON THE USE OF LOGBOOK
This book is designed for use by students who are taking their courses in hospitality management
for the work carried out during attachment period.
THE TRAINEE
Each day you should note in this logbook the work you have carried out. Give the title on
the work carried out.
You may make sketches to illustrate work carried out if you so wish at the back of each
page. You are to take your logbook to the Supervisor/Works Manager to examine your
reports at the end of each week.
When a lecturer visits you at the hotel. He/she too expects to see and examine your
logbook. You are therefore advised to keep this logbook with you at all times.
Remember, this book is your property, look after it carefully and conscientiously to form
a valuable record of training which may assists you in obtaining employment in future. It
can be presented to job interview panels as part of you credentials.
Please examine the trainee’s logbook every week and give comments (if any in the spaces
provided for you in the logbook)
Please ensure that the logbook is used according to the firm’s schedule of activities.
NOTE
The final grade for industrial Attachment work will partly be derived from the daily record of
work in this book.
This grade will be considered for the final grading system of your Certificate/ Diploma/ Higher
Diploma/ Degree.

Please kindly give us your evaluation of the trainees’ conduct and performance of a duty on monthly basis during
the period of attachment. Enter your comments by filling in the spaces provided in this form.
Two sets of this form are provided. One set should be used for discussion with the student giving corrective
feedback. The other form should be filled confidentially and send a confidential cover to the internship liaison
department.
