1. In a village, there are 2520 males and 1840 females. What is the population of the
village?

many are left?
4. In a school, there are 4000 children. If 1268 are girls, how many are boys?
5. In a school there are 2,392 boys and 2,184 girls. Find the total number of students in the
school.
6. In a factory, 1,845 garments are made in the first month, 2,915 are made in the second
month and 4,240 garments are made in the third month. Find the total number of
garments made in the factory.
7. Ron bought an ice-cream cone for Rs35 and chocolate bar for Rs 20. How much would
he have if he gave shopkeeper Rs100?
8. Mr. Daniel spends Rs 6,800 on grocery, Rs 5,765 on rent and Rs 580 on others. Find his
savings if his monthly salary is Rs 20000.
9. Write the expanded form for 43,257.
10. Write the expanded form for 14,080.
11. Write the short form for the given expanded forms.
