1. Product Introduction
This user guide applies to EY-002S which apply the complete
set of patent technology developed by
SHENZHEN TIANHAILAN TECHNOLOGY Co., Ltd The scanners
above are of strong identification capability and support automatic
continuous scanning mode with fast and flexible scanning speed.

In this chapter, we will introduce the instruction of scanner with


pictures, please compare to the scanner you bought when reading
this user guide, which is good for your understanding. This chapter
applies to regular users, maintenance personnel, and software
developers.

1.1 Main feature

1.2 Unpack your device


After you open the shipping carton containing the product, take
the following steps:
Take the accessories for scanner out from
package.Check with the packing list to see if everything is
complete and in good condition. If there are any damaged or
missing components, please keep the original package and
contact your supplier for after-sales service.

The scanner must be connected to a host to operate. Host can
be a PC, POS machine, intelligent terminal with USB interface.

1.6 Start-up, shutdown, standby and restart


Start-up: Connect host computer with scanner, which will
automatically start-up and in working state.
Shutdown: Remove the data cable which is connected with
scanner; remove the USB which is connected with host computer.
Restart: If the product crash or no response when pressing
button, please restart it.

1.7 Maintenance
※ The window must be kept clean, the supplier do not bear the
guarantee responsibility due to the improper maintenance.
※ Avoid the window being wear and tear or scratched by hard
object.
※ Use the hairbrush to remove the stain on the window.
※ Clean the window with a soft cloth, such as lens cleaning cloth.

※ Spraying liquid onto the window is prohibited.


※ Prohibit any cleaning solvents, except for the cleaning water.

1.8 Reading skills


If the barcode is small, it should be closer to the scanning window;
if the barcode is large, it should be far away from the scanning
window a little more, thus easier to be read correctly.
If the barcode is highly reflective (for example, the coated surface),
you may need to tilt the barcode at an angle to successfully
scan it.

2. Barcode Menu
This model of laser desktop barcode scanner is designed to
change settings by reading some special barcode, which we
will give you a detailed introduction and show you all the barcodes
for the corresponding setting in this section.
The greatest advantage of this setting method is direct,
intelligible and user friendly.

2.1 Mark Setting

2.2 Setting barcodes


Read the “Enter/Exit setting” barcode to activate code setting
function. Scanners can be set by reading one or more setting
code.
Scan the "Enter/Exit setting" barcode again to exit the setup
code function.Scan the “Restore factory default setting" barcode
to restore the factory setting.
Take the following setting steps:

2.2.1 normal mode setting


Remark: “normal mode” can be scanned directly, you don’t
need to scan “enter setting” or “exit setting”

2.2.4 BT name and mode setting

Steps to set BT name:


Scan “BT name setting” first, then scan another barcode which
will become the BT name of this scanner.
Remark:
1. The longest BT name can be 16 bytes. If the barcode of the
BT more than 16 bytes, the BT will only take the first 16 bytes
as BT name.

2. Full BT name format including: BT name + protocol type, and
you only can change the BT name. After you changed the BT
name, all BT name with different protocol type will change at
the same time. For example, you change BT name into “Scanner”
in HID mode, then the BT name will be “ScannerHID”. In SPP
and BLE protocol, it will be “ScannerSPP” and “ScannerBLE”

HID pairing step 1:


1.After activated the scanner green light always on;
2.Scan “Enter Setting”>> “Pair Mode”>> “ BT HID mode” >>
“Exit Setting”
3.Now green stay on and two blue light flash alternately.
4.When one blue light and green light on and buzzer sounds
means pairing successfully.

HID pairing step 2:


1.After activated the scanner green light always on;
2.Press button for 8S
3.Now green stay on and two blue light flash alternately.
4.When one blue light and green light on and buzzer sounds
means pairing successfully.

SPP pairing step:


1.After activated the scanner green light always on;
2.Scan “Enter Setting”>> “Pair Mode”>> “ BT SPP mode” >>
“Exit Setting”
3.Now green stay on and two blue light flash alternately.
4.When one blue light and green light on and buzzer sounds
means pairing successfully.

BLE pairing step:


1.After activated the scanner green light always on;
2.Scan “Enter Setting”>> “Pair Mode”>> “ BT BLE mode” >>
“Exit Setting”
3.Now green stay on and two blue light flash alternately.
4.When one blue light and green light on and buzzer sounds
means pairing successfully.
Remark: Double click on the button during the connection will exit “Pair mode”;
and if it doesn’t connect successfully in one minute also will exit “Pair mode”.

2.2.7 Add prefix/suffix
Steps to add prefix or suffix: Scan add prefix or add suffix first, then
scan the character you want to add as prefix or suffix (appendix),
you can add 32 characters as prefix or suffix.

Steps to hide prefix or suffix: Scan“hide prefix” or“hide suffix”
first, then scan the numbers of the characters you want to hide.
You can hide 4 characters at most.

2.7 trigger mode setting


Remark: In this section, if you want to restore to factory default, you need to
scan “Restore scan mode and default decode setting”. In the new version
you can scan any setting barcodes without scan “enter setting” or “exit
setting”

barcode, the red light will stay on until successfully read
the barcode or exceed the decode scanning time.
