1. A good network security system helps business reduce the risk of falling victim of data
theft and sabotage.
2. Network security help to protect your workstations from harmful spyware. It also ensures
that shared data is kept secure.

application from disruption, network security ensures that employees can stay on task
without facing sever outages, email downtime or data loss.

Types of threats that can be encounter in computer network
1. Botnets
If you’re never heard of a botnet, its likely because they go largely undetected.
What they are:
A collection of software robots,or bots, that creates an army of infected computers (known as
zombies) that are remotely controlled by the originator . yours may be one of them and you may
not even know it
What they can do:
Send spam emails with viruses attached
Spread all types of malware
Can use your computer as part of a denial of service attack against other system
2. Distributed denial of service (ddos) attack
Ddos is when a malicious user gets a network of zombie computers to sabotage a specific
website or server. The attack happens when the malicious user tell all the zombie computers to
contact a specific website or sever over and over again.
3. Hacking
Is a term used to describe action taken by someone to gain unauthorized access to a network. The
availability of information online on the tools,techniques,and malware makes it easier for even
non technical people to undertake malicious activities.
4. Malware
Malware is one of the more common ways to infiltrate or damage your computer

Way of protecting information on network


1. Maintain your Antivirus software
2. Application security
3. Behavioral analysis
4. Avoidance of data loss
5. Firewalls (web application firewalls) put in and monitor firewall performance
6. Create a VPN
7. Web security/browser
8. Training your employees
9. Update passwords at least every quarter
