Joni's playing on this song is quite intricate and challenging. She makes
extensive use of the low string as a drone and moves back and forth between 2 or
3 subtly different right-hand patterns.
Each dash of the tablature represents a 16th note. Above each staff I've written
the measure numbers and (on the next line) the eighth note counts to help
understand the highly syncopated rhythm. Best to listen carefully to the
recording a few times before attempting it.
Right hand fingering is important here, I would guess Joni primarily uses the
thumb on the 6th string, the index finger on the 5th string, and the middle and
ring fingers as pairs on the 4th/3rd and 2nd/1st strings.

(* Measure 21 - on the 3e beat, both the index and middle fingers hammer
onto the 3rd and 5th strings from their open positions. Easier done
than written... listen to the recording.)
There's a man who's been out sailing
In a decade full of dreams
And he takes her to a schooner
And he treats her like a queen
Bearing beads from California
With their amber stones and green
He has called her from the harbor
He has kissed her with his freedom
He has heard her off to starboard
In the breaking and the breathing
Of the water weeds
While she was busy being free
Ending:
You know, once you've gotten this far through the song, the ending will be a
piece of cake for you. :-)
