OVERVIEW

STEPS TIME / DURATION CONTENTS

• Introduce the 3 goals: (Level Check, Feedback, Demo)

3. Role play check 5 min. • Conduct a role play appropriate to the student’s level
4. Feedback 2 min. • Give the student feedback on strengths and weaknesses
5. Demo Lesson 10 min. • Do a demo lesson appropriate to the student’s level
6. Wrap up 1 min. • Answer any questions from the student
• Thank the student and bid goodbye
7. PEDA • Fill in the Level and Rank on the PEDA and SAVE as DRAFT
before the end of the lesson. (The student needs the LEVEL
and RANK to book their next lesson.)

ASSESSMENT BASIS

LEVEL DEFINITIONS **
Level 1 Rank A The learner has minimal knowledge of English and can only use simple vocabulary as a means of
communication.
Level 1 Rank C The learner is capable of understanding simple questions and statements in a business setting when spoken to
slowly using simple vocabulary. Furthermore, the learner’s response to questions can be mostly understood
despite some major structural errors.
Level 2 Rank A The learner is capable of maintaining a simple conversation with a single speaker in a business setting with
some minor misunderstandings. Furthermore, the learner can express his/her opinion to some extent with
some structural errors.
Level 3 Rank A The learner is capable of carrying out most daily business activities without any difficulty. Furthermore, the
learner can keep up in conversations between multiple speakers to some extent by interrupting and
confirming what others have said. Lastly, the learner can and is willing to express his/her opinion with only a
few minor errors.

NOTE **

If unsure which level to assign the student, go for the


LOWER LEVEL.
