HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT

PRACTICES OF HOSPITALS
IN PANGASINAN
Statement of the Problem
The study aims to assess the practices of hazardous waste management of Hospitals in the

Province of Pangasinan, which hich specifically seeks to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, educational attainment, and
seminars and trainings attended?

Province of Pangasinan as practiced by the employees along waste handling, waste collection,
waste storage and waste transport?
3. Is there a significant relationship between the profile of the respondents and the extent of
hazardous waste management practices of hospitals in the province of Pangasinan?
4. What are the problems encountered in the waste management practices of Hospitals in the
Province of Pangasinan as practiced by the employees?
Scope and Limitation

Urdaneta Sacred Hospital

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The research design in this study is descriptive method of research which is known as
statistical research that describes data and characteristics to determine what practices are
done, level of effectiveness, stage of recovery, as well as implementation of programs.

Total enumeration sampling technique in choosing the respondents of the study will be
used, which is gathering the number of population and then classifying them to two groups.
The respondents of the study will include the head of the maintenance department and its
staff who are responsible for the implementation of waste management system. Specifically,
the respondents will include maintenance which are responsible for waste management only.

Survey questionnaires will be used as a tool for data gathering from the respondents. The
questionnaire will be lifted form the environmental waste bureau particularly that of the
waste management section for hospitals. The questionnaire will be used in order to gather
data about the waste management practices of Hospitals in the Province of Pangasinan The
first part of the questionnaire will include profiling of the respondents. The second part of the
questionnaire will includes statements for the implementation of practices of waste
management in hospitals The third part of the questionnaire will include the problems
