Snowman Ornament

Size: about 4” tall
Materials:
 About 30 yds white or undyed fingering weight
yarn
 About 15 yds of fingering weight yarn in your
choice of color for hats and scarves
 12” black worsted weight yarn
 Fiberfill
 Stitch Marker
Gauge: 8-9 stitches per inch for body 2k
Needle Size: US size 2 (2.75mm) 40” circular needle 3 *[kfb] rep from * until end of rnd (16 sts)
or double pointed needles or size needed to obtain 4k
5 *[k1, kfb] rep from * until end of rnd (24 sts)
gauge. Also a US size 3 (3.25mm) 40” circular needle
or double pointed needles for the hat and scarf. work next 10 rnds in st st
Abbreviations 6 *[k1, k2tog] rep from * until end of rnd (16 sts)
CO - cast on 7k
BO - bind off 8 *[k2, k2tog] rep from * until end of rnd (12 sts)
K - knit 9 *[kfb] rep from * until end of rnd (24 sts)
KFB - knit front and back increase
K2tog - knit two together decrease work in st st until measures 3" from the top
P - purl
PM - place marker 10 p

Shaping the body

Thread tail on a tapestry needle Pull tail up through body and Pull tail back down through body
tighten so bottom becomes so head is rounder. Tack in place.
