ON/OFF: Press the ON/OFF button to start the appliance. NOTE: the default fan
speed is Medium and the fan mode is Normal. When switching OFF, the fan will
continue for approximately 5 minutes to dry the honeycomb filter. This is normal
and is designed to prolong the life of your cooler. If you have been using the
appliance as a heater, the fan will also continue to allow the heater element to
cool down. In all modes, NORMAL, NATURAL and SLEEP mode the LCD light will
flash until the cooling or drying procedure is complete. DO NOT switch OFF at
the power supply until the procedure has completed.

SPEED: Press to select the desired fan speed (LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH). The

sequence is as follows:- M – H – L – M. The corresponding LED will illuminate.
The fan speeds DO NOT work with the WARM function.

VANE: Press the vane button and the vertical louvers will oscillate to provide
airflow to a wide area. The corresponding LED will illuminate. The horizontal
louvers can be manually adjusted to direct the height of the air flow. This is
useful to provide cool air over a bed during hot summer nights. The vane button
can be pressed at any time to stop oscillation. This locks the vertical louvers in a
fixed position to direct air to your chosen direction.

TIMER: Set the time by pressing the timer button to select a desired time for the
appliance to switch OFF. The range can be set between 0.5 and 7.5 hours. The
corresponding LED will illuminate.

requirement. The sequence is as follows:-
NORMAL – NATURAL – SLEEP

The corresponding LED will illuminate with each selection.

NORMAL MODE: The unit will operate at the selected fan speed setting

NATURAL MODE: The fan speed will alternate between settings to simulate a
natural breeze.

SLEEP MODE: The fan speed will reduce from HIGH to MEDIUM to LOW over a
period of ninety minutes to help aid restful sleep.

COOL BUTTON: Before operating the appliance in cool mode, ensure the water
tank is filled with sufficient water and securely located in the appliance. Observe
the water level indicator on the front panel to prevent over or under filling.

NOTE: The cool LED will flash if there is no or insufficient water in the tank.

With the correct amount of water in the tank, press the COOL button and the
corresponding LED will illuminate.

Additional cooling can be achieved by adding ice to the ice basket or the freezer
ice block can be placed directly into the water tank.

The MODE operation DOES NOT work with the WARM function.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS continued
WARM BUTTON: The default heat setting is low (PTC1 will illuminate). Press the
WARM button to select high setting (PTC2 will illuminate).

NOTE: If the appliance is switched OFF with the warm function operating, the
appliance will resume in warm mode when next turned on.

REMOTE CONTROL

The AC002 is supplied with a remote control that will operate all the features on
the control panel. The remote control will operate up to a distance of 5 meters.

The remote controller is powered using two AAA

batteries. (NOT SUPPLIED WITH THE APPLIANCE).

IONISER: The ioniser function is working constantly on this appliance. Negative

ions (sometimes called anions) help to purify the air we breath by removing
positively charged duct and smoke particles from the atmosphere. The best air
quality is found by the sea side, in forested areas or near to waterfalls or water
fountains. This is because the concentration of negative ions is much higher than
in homes or offices.
Ionised air helps the body to absorb more oxygen thus making us feel much
healthier.

8
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is the advantage of an air cooler over a traditional fan?

A: A fan simply circulates air at room temperature whilst the air cooler lowers
the temperature before circulating it around the room. Based on the
principle of evaporative cooling air passes through a moist screen
increasing the relative humidity as moist air is cooler.

Q: How do I achieve best results with the air cooler?

A: For best results position the air cooler near an open window or door facing
into the centre of the room (as per diagram on page 7).

Q: What size room will this unit cool?

A: This unit is designed as a personal cooler and unlike an air conditioner, can
be operated with windows and doors open. It will not significantly reduce
the temperature in large rooms but will provide a comfortable individual
environment.

Q: Why should I use the unit as a heater?

A: The PTC heater unit combines with the ioniser to provide warm clean air in
medium sized rooms.

Q: Can I add scent to the water?

A: No, it is not advisable to add scent.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of ice cubes that can be added to the tank?
A: No, just be careful that you do not overfill the water tank.

Q: Can my cooler be left on when I am out?

A: No, it is unwise. Remember the unit is best used with doors and windows
open.
