PLAN
American Heart Association – Training Center and Class Policies

QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN

To be able to assume quality in delivery of service COMCHECS follow the guidelines and
policies below:
Course Exam, Textbooks, and Materials
 All examinations in the courses should be given by the coordinator of the
Training center. These tests will be the latest version released by the American Heart
Association. After a new test is issued by the American Heart Association, all old tests
must be removed, except for one copy for the record.
 Curriculum textbooks are a joint responsibility between students, course instructors, and
sponsor training centers. Students must have the eBook on hand or two weeks after the
start of the course eBooks are not available. Students attending Advanced Cardiovascular
Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support are advised to keep their books for
two weeks prior to the start of the course.
 Students will be notified by mail, e-mail, in person, program, learning
management system and / or telephone that eBooks are needed and when they will be
purchased. This will allow the student to buy books from other places on their own.

Instructor Updates and Certification Maintenance

 A main database containing all instructors, their discipline, instructor expiration date, last
monitored dates and all contact information will be maintained by the
Simulation Manager This database will be used to send instructor updates, class updates,
science updates, training center updates, as well as university policy updates. With
respect to each individual instructor.
 Instructors are monitored, with or without notice, by a faculty member of the training
center during their certification period to ensure that classes are conducted in accordance
with American Heart Association guidelines.
 To keep instructors up to date, instructors at Davao Medical School Foundation Training
Site are notified electronically of any updates from the American Heart Association,
Training Center or Training Site; When needed, the training site provides updates
in the form of live lessons.
 Instructors receive a copy of all policies and procedures issued by the training
center. When policies are updated or changed, a copy of these changes will be emailed to
all instructors with the updated policy.
Course card and Course Exam Maintenance
 Training center course cards are collected, maintained and monitored in accordance
with the AHA-9 Card Management Policy. This policy is reviewed on an annual basis
or changes to the AHA policy for card issuance, maintenance or physical card design.
 Course Examinations will be stored, maintained and supervised in accordance with the
Training Center AHA 2 Paper Responsibility Policy. This policy will be reviewed and
updated on an annual basis or based on changes to the AHA policy to revive the exam.
 In every ECC course, a course assessment form must be used to obtain feedback on
course content and instructors from students. Following each course with the TC Roster,
the AHA Course Evaluation forms will be submitted.

Training Center Responsibilities and Dispute

 The training center ensures that there are enough instructors each year for each area of
teaching. This instructor pool will be expanded as much as possible, assuming that the
instructor can meet the educational standards set by the training center and Comchecs
Davao Medical School Foundation.
 The training center will ensure that sufficient equipment and materials are available for
each course prior to the start of each course. Equipment is stored, maintained,
and verified on a regular basis to ensure good functionality and the need for the
simulation manager to replace or replace consumables. This equipment will be cleaned
and disinfected prior to being shipped to the field in accordance with the AHA-
3 Mock Cleaning Policy.
 The training center will issue each student with the appropriate card for the course they
have passed and completed under the AHA-9 Card Maintenance Policy.
 The training center will ensure that all documentation is thoroughly and fully done before
any card is issued to the student. Paperwork is filled in line with the AHA-2 Obligation
for paperwork policy.
 All internal disputes will be resolved in accordance with the AHA-12 Internal Dispute
Resolution Policy. This policy needs to be reviewed and changed annually to reflect
changes in the Comchecs DMSF policy or the American Heart Association policy.
 The TCA must retain all required documents for at least three years from the date of the
proceedings.
 TCF fills out and signs the candidate's application and the training center's educational
staff consent form. The new TCF will participate in an orientation session on roles and
expectations. Each member will be notified by the CCT of any updates, training
notes, etc. You will receive a quarterly briefing note. TCF serves as TC's quality
assurance and educational leadership. Conduct instructor renewal courses to monitor,
update and guide instructors. Make sure the TC offers a quality instructor course,
oversees the course and can update instructors within the TC. I was invited to the
Instructor Renewal Meeting and the Annual TCF Renewal Meeting.
 Upon request, TCC course instructors will provide course dates to monitor the course and
or review the site. The TCC or TCF oversees courses that are conducted to ensure that
the requirements set by the AHA are being met. TS complete the self-assessment form
annually.

Equipment
 AHA ECC courses require mannequins and equipment to be able to
demonstrate the basic skills of the course (e.g. airway management, correct hand
placement, depth of compression and recoil, etc.). The equipment required for each
course is listed in the course instructor's manual. All equipment used must be
in good working order and in good condition. The equipment will be checked
during the annual visit by specialists from the CCT. The decontamination declaration is
verified in each submitted TC register.
 If the equipment is found to be defective, it is the responsibility of the training center
coordinator or their lineage to decide if the equipment is still suitable for
use (i.e. the sincerest simulator for the BLS course). If the equipment
is considered ineffective, it will not be used and replacement parts will be found or
repaired
