(1) FIXATION OF CREST LEVEL AND WATERWAY :

Generally the crest level of the distributory head regulator is kept .15 M TO .5 M higher than its U/S floor level.

Adopt crest level of the regulator = 187.423 + 0.828

0.305 mtr dia 3 nos Pipes are provided at bedlevel in the crest to prevent weed formation due to impounded water u/s
Discharge capaity of 3 pipes = 0.400 cumecs
Discharge through 0.2 mtr dia single pipe in RP 0.062 cumecs
Net discharge of NDR d/s cross = 8.425 cumecs
Net discharge of RP = 1.230
Regulators are generally provided with a very wide and shallow water way. The drowned weir formula
is therefore,used for calculating the discharge.The system must be designed in such a way that it
should mitigate all type of head losses occurred during its regulation.
