xxDM, Protocol Telnet
IP-T Master
Component according to DIN 43863-4 for modems with dynamic IP addresses, for Pull and Push mode
Increased security
In case a slave does not respond to the IP-T master within one minute after successful login, the
connection will be interrupted. After 10 failed attempts to log in, there will be a timeout for the next
login attempt. The timeout period increases proportional to the number of failed attempts. Thus, it can
be avoided that unauthorized parties can log on to the IP-T master.
Scalability
Multiple extensions are possible i.e., several IP-T master can be operated in parallel.
Reliability
If several IP-T master are operated in parallel, the next available IP-T master will be used
automatically in case of a breakdown of one of the IP-T master.

Virtual billing data record from load profile balances and billing data records
Creation of a "virtual" result data channel, for which all organizational data and assignment fields
can be used.
Modul 30/11 Free definition and assignment of data channels from V03.206A
Time delimited assignment of measuring data of a data channel to a market participant or a metering
point
Examples of use:
A real data channel can be assigned to several customers without additional measuring data being
written into the database. This enables you to assign the same data in the customer view to any
number of customers with different views and different identifications.
For each link all organizational data (i.e. data channel description and all assignment fields) can be
freely defined.
A data channel can be exported to different market participants or can be imported from different
market participants with different descriptions.
Several individual data channels can be connected to one new data channel, e.g. for mapping a
device change.
A temporal view of measuring data of a data channel can be limited by a definition of any number
of time frames. For this reason it is possible e.g. to export only a certain time frame of a load profile
that collected data over years.
System information: Sagemcom Fröschl GmbH
State: 12.08.2019
You can assign complete time frames of single metering points to different market participants with the
help of the metering point assignment.
Advantages
Clear representation. The relations between the unique metering points and the different traders /
suppliers can be clearly displayed in the tree structure of the customer view by metering point
assignment .
Changes easy realizable. Changes at the traders / suppliers can be taken over into the MDM system
without any problems, by the use of assignments circumstantial structuring is no longer required.
Modul 30/13 Time zone administration of the metering point from V03.203A
Restrictions:
A conversion of measured data into another time zone is not possible
System information: Sagemcom Fröschl GmbH
State: 12.08.2019
Change of time-delimited assignment of a meter or transformer about metering point for installation,
removal and change
Advantages
Master data wizards help to handle standard processes like meter installation, -removal, -change and
transformer change in the MDM system. In the customer view, each active data channel of a device is
represented as data channel link under a metering point. Thus a time relation between metering point
and data channel can be created.
Restrictions
Source channels – at meter change – are assigned by the complete OBIS ID code, unit and day change.
Thereby not the properties of the data channel link are used but the properties of its sources.
Visualization of all temporary values, processing possibility according to defined limits, export
happens via MSCONS interfaces
System information: Sagemcom Fröschl GmbH
State: 12.08.2019
replacement of temporary values by final values, with automated data transmission export in
EDIFACT/MSCONS format
Restrictions:
Only values which have been created as a replacement for a temporary value are delivered
afterwards
The export has to be started as macro function. If the macro function is deleted, all information
about a delivery status of data is lost, too.
It is not possible to retrace whether a temporary value was exported for a value.
System information: Sagemcom Fröschl GmbH
State: 12.08.2019
Modul 31/4 Management for automatic generation of substitute values from V03.209H
Advantages:
Increased reliability of the generation of substitute values
By defining as many methods for the generation of substitute values per data channel as desired, the
possibility of a successful generation of substitute values increases. In case one method fails (e.g. due
to missing interpolation values) the next method available will be used.
Time/cost savings
Given the possibility to define several methods for the generation of substitute values for each data
channel, a breakdown of the generation of substitute values is minimized. Thus, you can save time and
costs for a manual recalculation of the substitute values.
Defining the priority of the single methods for the generation of substitute values
By assigning a priority to each method for the generation of substitute values, the user can define a
hierarchy among the methods.
Definition of a time frame for the single methods of the generation of substitute values
Each method can be assigned to a time frame of the generation of substitute values. Thus, the user can
define the methods for the generation of substitute values more detailed.
Modul 31/5 Macro for automatic generation of substitute values from V10.7
Isolation of the generation of substitute values from the importing process. Thereby, the
performance at importing measuring data is improved
Displacement of generation of substitute values at a time where all data are available (e.g. important
for substitute values, which depends on a second channel)
The generation of substitute values can be started in the correct sequence regarding the other macrao
functions by means of a macro. (e.g. prior to the export)
If the macro is used, the total duration of the generation of substitute values is shorter than executing
the generation of substitute values at each data chanel
Mixing the "Generation of substitute values during the import process" and the "Generation of
substitute values as macro function"is possible.
The maintenance of the generation of substitute values is still carried out at the data channel
(processing process is the same)
Load balancing to several macros and several application server is possible (via selection of
devices/device groups)

channels
Freely definable display of objects (devices, customers, data channels, metering points etc.)
Advantages
In the new, configurable view it is possible to display the elements (devices, data channels, metering
points etc.) and the structure of the tree view dynamically at run time. This happens via SQ filter
definitions. The SQL filters can be formulated individually. Thus, existing relations in the database can

also be displayed in the tree structure. This in turn, makes the administration considerably more
efficient, particularly regarding large amount of data.
Advantages
Maintain all information concerning the SIM card in the tab sheet "General" of the device dialog under
the section "Device parameter". The parameters are card number, PIN, data number, language ID, IP
address, provider, user and PUK.
Restrictions
Only the fields "data number" and IP address" have a control function. The other fields are only

Automatic transfer of the device status to the Trimble DMS system (pull and push)
1. Trimble DMS creates an order for the MDM system to read the status of devices
A list of devices to be read are is transferred to the system. These devices are checked if they exists
only once. The action "read event log" is started for all identified devices in the database. This is done
via the automatic with temporary date. The device status in the database is updated at the import of the
device messages. It is checked cyclically if the reading was finished and if there was an device status
detected, which is relevant for the Trimble DMS system. In this case, the status is sent via SOAP call
to the Trimble DMS..
2. The MDM system registers automatically events of devices and outputs this to the Trimble DMS
Automatically pushed events are written to the database table. At the same time it is checked, whether
the event changes the device status. In this case, the status is sent via SOAP call to the Trimble DMS.
The communication between DMS and MDM system occurs via SOAP interface with http protocol.
Requirements
Module 32/4 is mandatory necessary for the output of monitoring values
The subsystem Trimble DMS is not included in module 31/9 and must be purchased separately
2 Consulting days are mandatory necessary for the start-up of the module

Advantages:
Transfer of register values
Many external systems need register values for further processing. By using this module you can
transferregister values to external systems without difficulties.
A manual generation of substitute values for register values is not necessary anymore.
The generation of substitute values for register values is executed automatically. Thus, there is no
manual effort to calculate those substitute values.
Definition from which size of a data gap you want to generate substitute values
Using the function "Offset" you can define the time frame for the generation of substitute values even
more precise. The selected number of minutes, hours, days defines how large the data gap must be to
generate substitute values.

Using the assignment a data channel must be clearly identified in the MDM system. You can also
combine the assignment criteria by entering them into the corresponding ident fields at the data
channel in the system. The fields you want to use as assignment criteria can be entered without leading
zeros.

With each import a new device group with the name "VRSG import date, time" is created.
Subgroups are created below for each meter reading unit (process route) from the import file. Links
to clearly identified devices or newly created meters are assigned to these groups. If a device
already exists in the system, the data is assigned to this device. If a device is not found during the
VRSG import, the system generates a new ZVEI meter and assigns the device data to it.
If no devices can be assigned, the import creates a new ZVEI meter. In addition, a new customer
group with the name "VRSG import date, time" is created during this process. Below this, the
customers specified for the device are generated. These customers are assigned to the respective
data channel.
The devices can then be read. The reading does not take place automatically. After reading of the
devices, the reading data can be exported.

Export of load profile data (counter values, consumptions) and billing data
A file interface in XML format provides billing data as counter values and load profile values as
consumptions to the GAS-X system Therefor data channels containing data for the complete export
time frame are combined to a file via the metering point ID. Consider the data channel settings. The
selection of data channels happens via the tab sheet "General".
Use the tab sheet "Settings" to select the export time frame, the export path and to indicate whether
you want to check the measuring values.
The Gas-X export has no control function that tells you which values have already been exported.
Repeating the export means to export all data of the time frame chosen a new. If the export of one
data channel fails, it will be continued with the next data channel.
