Case Details

PETER SCULLY

Peter Gerard Scully is a 55-year old, Australian national who was criminally charged
before a Philippine court with abduction, human trafficking, rape, torture and murder against
young children. He was recently convicted in June 2018 of these charges. Scully was also
involved in the production of child pornography, torture and murder.

BACKGROUND

Scully arrived in the Philippines in 2011. It was reported that he was fleeing from
Victorian fraud and deception offences over his key role in a property scheme which deceived
20 investors. When he arrived at Malaybalay, Bukidnon, he set up a child sex and torture video
syndicate offering the videos produced to the dark web for other international pedophiles. The
pornography site on the dark web was called, “No Limits Fun.” Scully was able to sell child
pornography and torture videos therein for up to 10,000 Dollars per view to customers in
Germany, the United States and Brazil. It was reported that Scully abused more than a dozen
children during his three-year stay in the Philippines, distributing the videos to clients who
allegedly fed him instructions and personal fantasy.

MODUS OPERANDI

It was reported that Scully’s modus includes sending his 17-year-old live-in partner,
Carmen Ann Alvarez, to shopping malls in Cagayan de Oro to find homeless and vulnerable
young girls. The live-in partner would offer them food and entice them to their home. Scully
would also visit impoverished parents of children to promise that he would take care of the
children and give them proper education.

DAISY’S DESTRUCTION

Daisy’s Destruction features horrifying abuse and sexual assault of a young child. The
video was streamed on the dark web, on site called “Hurtcore,” a Pedophile site, where users
paid up to S10,000 to stream videos of violent abuse and torture of children. The whole video
features the torture and brutal rape of a number of girls, aged 12, 11 and 1. Scully directed such
video where the one-year old baby girl was tortured by a masked and naked woman known as
Liezyl Margallo, a former child prostitute who then became Scully’s girlfriend. The baby girl was
tied upside down by her feet, was whipped and assaulted with sex toys and beaten.

THE ARREST

Scully’s vile crimes were unexposed widely until two of his victims, cousins Queenie and
Daisy, aged 9 and 12, were reported to have been released by his live-in partner out of guilt.
There were also reports saying that the two young children escaped when a door was left open
so they are to a local market where their parents work.
When the video Daisy’s Destruction surfaced, investigations were made and conclusions
were put down together with the efforts of the Philippine police and international investigators.
On February 20, 2015, the police filmed the moment they successfully tracked down Scully and
arrested him. He was dressed in a yellow shirt, pinned to the ground as the police announce the
warrants of arrest.

TRIAL

No details of the trial have been released since the case is still on going. However, when
charged with rape and trafficking of the two young girls, Scully has pleaded not guilty.

JUDGMENT

In June 2018, the Regional Trial Court in Cagayan de Oro City declared Scully guilty of
the crimes charged against him. He is convicted of one count of human trafficking and five
counts of rape by sexual assault. Acting Regional State Prosecutor Merlyn Uy reported that both
Scully and his girlfriend Alvarez were found guilty of Qualified Trafficking in Persons and to suffer
Life Imprisonment and forced to pay the amount of P5 million to the victims. Uy also added that
the state prosecutor has fifty more cases against Scully other than the crimes proven guilty. A
second batch of cases is also to be tried in the Court against Scully’s former live-in partner
Margallo involving different children.
