WORLD WOMEN’S DAY OBSERVANCE


District Women’s Association, Rajshahi

Ranibazar,Rajshahi,22 October 2019-- International Women’s Day invites us to celebrate the


achievements of women to date but also to remind us that gender equality remains a significant challenge,
one that is hindering potential competitiveness, growth and prosperity.

This press release highlights the work of eight separate initiatives, all led by District Women’s
Association, Rajshahi aiming to combat violence against women and to promote women’s equal place in
the labour market. These initiatives are part funded by Bangladesh Women’s Association. Eight
initiatives including;

 Preventing Domestic Violence


 Women Entrepreneurship
 Anti Eve-teasing
 Women Empowerment
 Scholarship Facilities for Poor Female Students
 Preventing Early Marriage
 Women’s Health Development
 Anti Women’s Trafficking

In this day, District Women’s Association, Rajshahi is going to organize some camps, seminars, events
around different schools, colleges and universities for versatile motives. Around 200 volunteers and
helpers will be active on that day across the city. Our main target is to inform previous eight initiatives
among the villagers.

Therefore, we are targeting a several rallies with women around the cities. At last, if possible we will
organize portable multi-media classroom in villages.
