Equivalent Operating Hours For Hot Components of MGT6000 Gas Turbine Family

The document defines equivalent operating hours (EOH) for components of MGT6000 gas turbine engines. EOH takes into account actual operating hours along with factors for load level, fuel quality, and air quality. EOH is calculated as operating hours multiplied by these factors plus 10 hours for each start. Expected lifetimes of hot components like the flame tube and blades are provided in terms of EOH, ranging from 40,000 to 80,000 hours depending on the component.

Equivalent Operating Hours for

Hot Components of MGT6000 Gas Turbine Family

Definition "Equivalent Operating Hours":
The "Equivalent Operating Hours" (EOH) take into account the Operating Hours (OH) and the
specific site conditions like power level, fuel and air quality (A1, A2 and A3).

EOH = OH * A1 * A2 * A3 + Number of Starts * 10

Factor Operating Conditions Calculation Factors

A1 Load factor
Base load (operating at nGG- or T4-limit) 1.0
Operating up to 80% base load 0.9
Base load with repeated, short-term peak load 2.0
(peak load: operation above T4-limit)
A2 Fuel factor for commonly used fuels
Clean gas fuel 1.0
Gas fuel with high sulphur content 1.3
Fuel Oil No. 2, Diesel 1.8
Other fuels at request
A3 Air quality factor
Clean air 1.0
Air contaminated with corrosive components 1.3
