PROBLEM / QUESTION
Customer has an in-warranty CELVIN NAS QE705, QE805, QE707 or QE807 with defect mainboard, but the spare part which is needed for repair is not
available.
REASON / CAUSE
The mainboard of CELVIN NAS QE705 (38047505) and QE805 (34051441) have reached EOL status at supplier side. Once remaining stock of mainboards is
depleted, there will be no new material coming in.
The mainboard of CELVIN NAS QE707 (38058919) and QE807 (38058921) will only be produced by our supplier in case of higher quantity demand, usually
combined with mass production of the main end-customer product. Due to these circumstances, it can happen, that stock of these spare parts will run out and
resupply will take long time.

SOLUTION / WORKAROUND
The recommended solution is to offer the customer the full package of same or direct successor model.
The barebone part numbers above include the full end-customer package, which contains
1x Power Supply + Power cable (EU only)
2x 1.8m Ethernet cable
Quick Installation Guide
Safety notes
6x screws for 2,5" HDD (QE707) / 12x screws for 2,5" HDD (QE807)
8x screws for 3,5" HDD (QE707) / 16x screws for 3,5" HDD (QE807)
Under normal circumstances, the HDDs from the CELVIN NAS QE705/QE805 can be easily migrated to QE707/QE807.
Please note:
The migration procedure described below has been tested and proven successful. However, there is still the risk of unexpected behavior due
to unforeseen circumstances.
As data loss cannot be ruled out with 100% certainty, it is highly recommended to back up all data prior to migration when possible.
Some settings (e.g. Windows AD configuration) and applications (e.g. Surveillance Station) may be lost after migration.
For QE707/QE807, no migration procedure is necessary. HDDs can be swapped directly.
b) Put one hard disk into a USB enclosure, then connect it to a PC. (will only work in case if the customer chose RAID 1)
I. If the PC is running Linux OS, mount the third partition and copy all data to another media.
II. If the PC is running Windows OS, download a EXT filesystem utility (e.g. Ext2Read) open the third partition and copy all data to another
media.

2. The trays of QE705/QE805 are compatible with QE707/QE807, so there’s no need to remove the hard disks from the trays. Simply remove the
empty trays that are in the housing of QE707/QE807 and replace them with the ones from QE705/QE805. Make sure, the hard disks will get the
same ID they had in the QE705/QE805.
3. Plug all the cables and start the QE707/QE807 according the user manual.
4. Connect to the QE707/QE807 using the Fujitsu Qfinder tool via double-click on the NAS.
5. Enter the credentials of user “admin” with the customer’s admin password. (default: “admin”)
6. If a migration wizard is shown, click “Start migration” and follow the instructions on screen.
7. Once the administration interface is shown, go to section ControlPanel System System Logs and check for any warnings related to the
migration.
8. If following warning is shown: “The firmware versions of the system built-in flash and the hard drive are not consistent. […]” then download the latest
firmware for QE707/QE807 from http://support.ts.fujitsu.com, unzip it, then go to section ControlPanel System Firmware Update to install it.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Please note, that the above arrangement is only applicable if these two conditions are met:
1. The mainboard of the customer’s NAS is defective
2. The related spare part is not on stock.
In case any other part has failed or if there are mainboard quantities on stock, the already established procedures and spare parts are to be applied.
