3. Hazards Identification
Warning Statements: AVOID BREATHING PRODUCT MISTS.HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED.
MAY CAUSE EYE AND SKIN IRRITATION. IT MAY CAUSE IRRITATION
TO THE RESPIRATORY TRACT.KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Eyes: May cause slight eye irritation.
Oral: No significant affects known.
Inhalation: Breathing the vapor or mist in excess can cause respiratory irritation or
discomfort. Persons with chronic respiratory disease may show increased
symptoms due to irritation.
Skin: It may cause slight irritation on prolonged contact.
Long Term Toxic Effects: Components used in the product are not expected to be carcinogenic,
based on IARC Criteria. This product has not been tested as a whole for
chronic health effects. See Section 11 for additional information

4. First Aid Measures


Eyes: Flush eyes immediately with fresh water for at least 10 minutes while holding the
eyelids open. If irritation persists, see a doctor.
Inhalation: If the person is breathing, move to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, apply
artificial respiration. Call a doctor.
Skin: Remove and launder contaminated clothing, including shoes. Wash skin
thoroughly with soap and water. See a doctor, if necessary
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Call a doctor immediately. If spontaneous vomiting
occurs, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration and monitor for breathing
difficulty. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Advice to Doctor: Gastric lavage by qualified medical personnel may be considered, depending on
quantity of material ingested. If the spontaneous vomiting
has occurred after ingestion, the patient should be monitored for difficult
breathing.

5. Fire Fighting Measures

Explosion Hazards: None. Normally, the product is used after making emulsion in water.
Fire Extinguishing Agents: Use Dry chemical, Foam, or Carbon dioxide. Cool containers exposed to
fire with water to avoid damage to the containers. For fires involving this
material, do not enter any confined or enclosed space without self-
contained breathing apparatus to protect against the hazardous effects

6. Accidental Release Measures


In Case of Spill: Stop the source of leak. Ventilate area. Keep people away. Avoid breathing
vapors and eye or skin contact. Use respirator and protective clothing as
discussed in this MSDS (See Section 8). Use supplied-air respirator for large
releases in confined area. Contain spill if possible. Remove with inert absorbent
and place in container for disposal at an approved facility. Prevent entry into
sewers and waterways.

7. Handling & Storage


Storage Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Keep containers tightly closed.
Handle and Store in well-ventilated area, dry place and in accordance with local
regulations. Periods of exposure to high temperatures should be minimum.
Handling Do not eat, drink or smoke, while handling the product. Avoid prolonged skin
contact. Empty containers retain residue (liquid and/or vapor) and can be
dangerous. Do not attempt to clean since residue, as it is difficult to remove.
Empty drums should be completely drained, properly bunged and promptly
returned to a drum reconditioner. All other containers should be disposed of in
an environmentally safe manner and in accordance with governmental
regulations. Comply with the health and safety at work laws.

8. Exposure Control/Personal Protection


Eyes: Avoid eye contact. The wearing of chemical safety goggles or face shield is
recommended.
Skin: Avoid contact with skin or clothing. Wearing impervious protective clothing such
as gloves can minimize skin contact. Use of Barrier creams recommended, to
protect the exposed part.
Exposed employees should exercise reasonable personal cleanliness; this
includes cleansing exposed skin several times daily with soap and water, and
laundering or dry cleaning soiled work clothing at least weekly.
Inhalation: If operating conditions create airborne concentrations that are excessive and
may exceed the exposure standard(s), the use of an approved respirator is
recommended.
Wear approved respiratory protection such as an organic vapor cartridge
respirator.
Ventilation: Use this material only in well-ventilated areas. Local exhaust ventilation
recommended, lowering the exposure level of employees.
Exposure Limits: No ACGIH TLV exists for this material. Adhere to common Industrial hygiene.

11. Toxicological Information


General: No negative effect seen on humans, in case of proper handling. This product
contains ingredients, which are not listed in the U.S. National Toxicology Program
(NTP) Annual Report nor have they been classified by the International Agency for
Research on Cancer (IARC) as carcinogenic or probably carcinogenic to humans.

12. Ecological Information


Environmental The product is not considered harmful or toxic. However avoid discharging this
Effects: product in water system or soil directly.

13. Disposal Considerations


Waste Disposal: The emulsion is split for removal of oil (Oil may come in the form of soil, from
components & goes into the emulsion). The separated Oil is skimmed off and
disposed as per the regulations laid down for oil. The remaining part of the emulsion
is treated to remove dissolved salts and precipitates. Remaining water is then
discharged into the sewage system after taking care of the COD/ BOD values.
Place contaminated materials in disposable containers and dispose of in a manner
consistent with applicable regulations. Contact local environmental or health
authorities for approved disposal of this material. Contact your local oil spill
response group and applicable government agencies if a spill occurs. Do not allow
entering into drains or sewers.
