Lesson Plan - Lego Robotics 1

Topic : Garbage Truck Challenge

Learning Outcomes : At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

i. Assemble and modify a robot

ii. Utilize action blocks (green blocks) to complete challenges

iii. Able to do a 90 degree turn.

Prerequisites : Basic command of English

Teaching Aids : Module, EV3 sets

Challenge preparation : Use masking tape to make squares (30cm x 30cm) in straight lines and
Measuring tape

TEACHING PROCEDURE

STEPS CONTENT TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES NOTES


Introduction Setting 1. Tutor(T) begins the class by laying out the

Warming up
Step 1 1. T begins the class by telling Ss the goals of the Robot building

Step 3 Programming 1. Ss start programming right after finish build the Programming

3. Ss complete the challenge on the map/track.

Step 3 Modify 1. Ss adjust the programming value and the robot


(20 minute) structure to make the truck more effective and
efficient in completing the challenge.
Closing Closing of 2. T to conclude the lesson of the day by checking
lessons. their understanding and tidying of lego sets.
(10 minutes)
3. T to give encouragement and praises to both Ss
who are fast and slow learners. This information
will be used to guide and plan better to give
personal guidance to every single individual in the
following lesson.
