perpendicular to the inclined members. Determine the magnitude of the resultant, its
inclination with the horizontal, and where it intersects AB.

2. Determine the values of α and θ so that the forces shown in Figure will be in equilibrium.

3. The uniform rod in Figure weighs 420 lb and has its center of gravity at G. Determine the
tension in the cable and the reactions at the smooth surfaces at A and B
