shall be connected to hydraulic line to note the pressure at each stage of loading and
unloading.
8. After all the above arrangements are completed loading on the test pile shall be
commenced in following manner:

8.1 Test shall be carried out by loading each increment of the load. Load increment
for each step shall be nearly 20% of the safe design capacity of pile.
8.2 The test load was applied on the pile cap by means of a hydraulic jack.The load
was applied in increments of about 2O%of the design load. Each stage of loading
was maintained till the rate of settlement either Or.Lmm in first 30 minutes or O.O2
mm in first 1 or 2 hours whichever was earlier as per the provision of is code.
8.3 The fulltest load shall be maintained for 24 hours.
