Cross - Section: Section Design For Crack Widths: Default Example

This document contains an analysis of crack widths in a concrete beam subjected to thermal and mechanical loads. Input parameters describing the beam geometry and material properties are provided. Two load cases are considered: 1) temperature change of 20°C and bending moment of 27 kNm; and 2) temperature change of 20°C and bending moment of 27 kNm. For each load case, crack widths are calculated for different reinforcement configurations and compared to the design crack width of 0.2mm. The analysis finds that load case 2 results in the critical crack widths.
