It is with great pleasure to recommend Ryan Marchione for a secondary Social Studies teaching
position. Ryan completed his student teaching with me during the Fall of 2020. Ryan completed
his student teaching experience during one of the most difficult times for education. He
approached this situation as a seasoned teacher.
During his time with me, Ryan taught in both a fully virtual setting as well as a hybrid setting.
He showed the ability to adapt his teaching style to meet both of these settings. He was able to
learn new educational technology items such as Schoology, CSIU Gradebook, and among many
others and be able to develop lessons both engaging and rigorous for students.
Ryan displayed compassion and caring for the students. He was in constant communication with
students and parents regarding their progress in class. Ryan was always willing to go the extra
mile to make sure students were completing their assignments as well as understanding the
material being presented that day.
Finally, Ryan taught three courses with me. He taught US Law, Honos US Law, and
Economics/Principles of Democracy. With each of these classes, Ryan had to develop
adaptations and accommodations for students who had IEP's as well as those who did not have
IEP’s but needed accommodations to complete their work.
In conclusion, Ryan would make an excellent Social Studies teacher and would be an invaluable
addition to any staff. If you would like to discuss Ryan’s qualification more, please feel free to
contact me at jtabay@nbasd.org or 724-480-8685.
Sincerely
