PROCEDURE FOR CONFIGURING VLANs IN MLTN PDF

The document provides guidance for configuring VLANs in MLTN networks. It involves three main steps: 1. Configuring the RL-IME (Radio Link Inverse Multiplexer for Ethernet) by selecting the corresponding packet link for the established microwave link. 2. Configuring the Ethernet switch by setting the switch mode to 802.1q and aging time. 3. Assigning a switch port to the automatically created WAN interface according to the port assignment diagram.

PROCEDURE FOR CONFIGURING VLANs IN

MLTN

1 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to serve as guidance for the activities to be
performed in the VLANs configuration.

2 INTRODUCTION
Telcel aims to provide broadband service to its users by using HSPA + on its 3G
network. Thus, each broadband user can reach capacities of up to 21 Mbps for
downloading data or applications like video streaming, etc.. This will require a
transmission network with more capacity than they currently have, plus new
transmission technologies such as Ethernet and new features to make the best
use for each bit transmitted. The best way to do this is by the combination of
increased network capacity and transmission schemes using traffic aggregation
To support this project was defined 45 Mbps This project is focused on providing
a capability in the transmission network supporting at least 45 Mbps per site 3G.
Currently 3G sites are co-located 2G sites.
GSM base stations used for transporting E1s while the 3G base stations use dual
stack, ie E1s to transport real-time traffic (R99) and HSPA + Ethernet. This
combination of TDM and Ethernet traffic on the transmission network is a scenario
where MINI-LINK TN shows its advantages over its competition by being able to
carry both types of traffic sharing the native form of the link between total capacity
TDM and Ethernet in steps 2 Mbps

3 ETHERNET CONFIGURATION
Once the microwave link as requested in the OT you must configure the Ethernet
according to the following diagram:

A. RL-IME CONFIGURE
The RL-IME (Radio Link Inverse Multiplexer for Ethernet) is a multiplexer for Ethernet.
The NPU3 B has 5 RL-IME, which means that have capacity for 5 links in an AMM 6p.
Configuring the RL-EMI 1/7/100 and select the corresponding Packet Link to the link
established.

o The Management tree expands the RL-IME in NPU3 B.

o Select the RL-IME 1/7/100 (can be any of the 5 that are shown in NPU) to right
click and select Configure.

o Select the Link Packet and pass from Available Packet Links window to
Assigned Packet Links window.

o Configure the following parameters:

o Notification: Enable
o No Traffic Alarm: Enable
