Light Bracket Design Rev0

This document provides the structural design calculations for a light support bracket at Al Bayt Stadium. It includes the design concept, criteria, and analysis. The bracket will be designed according to Eurocode standards for the ultimate and serviceability limit states under dead and wind loads. The analysis includes modeling the bracket in STAAD.Pro, defining loads, and checking member forces and stresses are within allowable limits. Connection design will also be considered.

1.0 RATIONALE

This report will provide statement of the design basis, principle, methodology and parameters for the design

Lights support Bracket. The overall design will be in accordance with the relevant Eurocode Standards.

2.0 DESIGN CONCEPT

All Structural Steel works will be designed and detailed based on the most critical limit state (Ultimate Limit

State) and check to ensure that the remaining limit states (Serviceability L imit States) will not be

reached in accordance with EN 1993-1-1:2005 and EN 1993-1-8:2005

2.1 Ultimate Limit State (ULS)

All structural steel work will be designed to ensure the stability and durability from the action of design ultimate

loads. The structure will be assessed in this state based on the following load combinations.

COMB1: ULS1: 1.35 DL

COMB1: ULS1: 1.35 DL +1.5 WL

2.2 Serviceability Limit State (SLS)

All Structural Steel work will be checked during its service based on the following load combinations:

COMB1: SLS1: 1.0 DL

COMB1: SLS1: 1.0 DL + 1.0 WL

3.0 STRUCTURAL DESIGN CRITERIA

3.1 Basic Codes and Standards

All structural steel work will be designed in accordance with the applicable requirements and recommendations

EN 1993-1-1:2005 and related standards, to meet or exceed the specified performance. The requirements and

recommendations of these codes and standards are to be regarded as minimum criteria, and the designers will

utilize the values specified within this document, where these prove more onerous.

Codes and standards Descriptions

EN 1993-1-1:2005 Design of Steel Structure (General rules and rules for Building)

EN 1993-1-8:2005 Design of Steel Structure (Design of Joint)

3.2 Structural Materials

All Material used will be in accordance with the relevant section of the material and Workmanship unless noted

and agreed otherwise.

3.3 Loadings

3.3.1: Design Dead load

Self-weight of structure is calculated automatically by software STAAD.Pro itself.

Weight of light considered 30 Kg

3.3.2: Design Wind load
