We can check both w ith the “show version” command.
Question 9
Refer to the exhibit. A netw ork administrator configures a new router and enters the copy startup-config running-config on the

the system configuration dialog as show n. W hat is the cause of the problem?
The file was converted using http://www.convertapi.com Please purchase credits to remove this text http://www.convertapi.com/prices
Answer: A
Explanation
The “System Configuration Dialog” appears only w hen no startup configuration file is found. The netw ork administrator has
made a mistake because the command “copy startup-config running-config” w ill copy the startup config (w hich is empty) over
the running config (w hich is configured by the administrator). So everything configured w as deleted.
Note: We can tell the router to ignore the start-up configuration on the next reload by setting the register to 0×2142. This w ill
make the “System Configuration Dialog” appear at the next reload.
Question 10
Refer to the exhibit. W hat can be determined about the router from the console output?
Answer: A
Explanation
W hen no startup configuration file is found in NVRAM, the System Configuration Dialog w ill appear to ask if w e w ant to enter the
initial configuration dialog or not.
