MDSD
Attention:
All Maritime Cadets on On-Board Training:
Tips for OBT documents not to be rejected:
1. Crew list and MDSD in domestic Must be prepared by the clearing officer onboard one copy for coastguard,
vessel & shipping company. (mostly hand-written but some are typewritten ships form.
International IMO forms used and with ship stamp sign by the master(computer-generated)
2. Crew list form is fully fill-up with port name and date arrival/departure
3. Normally Coastguard stamp and sign only the MDSD, crew list will only have a PCG stamp and signature
and stamp by vessel.
4. No copies of crew list with mdsd in the coastguard so coastguard will not certify it.
5. Ships copy of the crew list and MDSD sign and cleared and stamp by PSG MUST be copied by the cadets
after clearance and must be certified by duty PCG while in port or before departure.
6. Only one copy of the crew list & MDSD sd per month any day for the duration of your contract must be
copy and subsequently certified by PCG on the same port is required.
7. Departure crew list and MDSD are being carried by vessel to the next port for clearance. So wrong is the
notion of most cadets that crew list and MDSD from departure is not a part of documents to be submitted to the
next port. Vessel to the next port must submit the documents cleared in the last port to the next destination.
8. The signature of the master in the crew list and MDSD is different from the signature of the master from the
SIRB or other forms.
9 SIRB doesn't have a joining port or date join.
10. Signature and stamp by only one Coastguard for 12 or 13 crew lists in one day only. It must be signed by
duty coast guard every port and required only 1 crew list. & MDSD every month only.
11. Do not submit any documents during his OBT.
12. Did not Register on the OBT Monitoring and submit his tasks and requirements online on a regular basis as
required.
