Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) Surgical Sutures Process 8/22/2020
Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is a technique used to evaluate potential failure modes within a process, product or service, identify their causes and effects, and prioritize them as to their criticality. The FMEA team identified potential failure modes in the surgical sutures process, determined their severity, occurrence, detection, and assigned a risk priority number. They then recommended actions to address high priority failures and assigned responsibilities to implement those actions by target dates.
