Manual 37615B SPM-D2-10 - Synchronizing Unit: © Woodward Page 45/68

The document discusses parameters for configuring a frequency controller that outputs a PWM signal for controlling generator frequency. It details settings for the PWM signal level and logic, initial frequency state, enabling/disabling frequency control, and the ramp rate for changing the frequency set point.

Manual 37615B SPM-D2-10 - Synchronizing Unit

Parameter 5210 PWM signal level 3.0 to 10.0 V

f control output
Level PWM 00,0V
This configuration screen only appears if the frequency controller is configured as
PWM type! The voltage amplitude for the PWM signal is configured here.
X & XN Packages only:
'PWM' setting

Parameter 6656 Logic PWM signal positive / negative

PWM-signal
Logic positive
This configuration screen only appears if the frequency controller is configured as
PWM type!
X & XN Packages only:
'PWM' setting
positive......... If the controller is outputting a PWM signal, the voltage level config-
ured in Parameter is output when the signal is at 100%. When the
PWM signal is at 0% the voltage level is 0 V.
negative ....... If the controller is outputting a PWM signal, the voltage level config-
ured in Parameter is output when the signal is at 0%. When the PWM
signal is at 100% the voltage level is 0 V.

Parameter 5508 Initial frequency controller state 0 to 100 %

f control output
Init.state 000%
This parameter is the set point for the frequency when the frequency controller is not
enabled. The value will be entered as a percentage that relates to the minimum and
X & XN Packages only: maximum values for the signal output (refer to Parameter and Parameter ).
'ANALOG' or 'PWM' setting

Parameter 5507 Frequency controller ON/OFF

Freq. controller
ON ON................ The generator frequency is controlled by the SPM-D2. The generator
frequency is controlled in various manners depending on the task (no
X & XN Packages only: load / isolated operation / synchronization). The subsequent screens of
'ANALOG' or 'PWM' setting
this function are displayed.
OFF.............. The frequency control is not performed by the SPM-D2, and the sub-
sequent screens of this function are not displayed.

Parameter 6655 Isolated operation frequency controller ON/OFF

Freq. controller
Isol. oper. ON ON................ In isolated operation the frequency controller is enabled.
OFF.............. In isolated operation the frequency controller is disabled.
X & XN Packages only:
'ANALOG' or 'PWM' setting '

Parameter 5503 Frequency controller set point ramp 0.1 to 99.9 Hz/s
Freq. controller
Ramp....00.0Hz/s
The controller increases the frequency from an initial set point to the configured fre-
quency via a ramp. The slope of the ramp is used to determine how quickly the con-
X & XN Packages only: troller changes the frequency. The larger the value configured here, the more rapid
'ANALOG' or 'PWM' setting
the change in frequency.
