Read an excerpt from an article on Freecyle? What is the purpose of Freecycle?

Are you looking for a toaster or a golf club? Do you want to get rid of a cat leash or a winter
coat? Last month, all of these items were listed on Freecyle. Freecycle.org is an online non-
profit group used by many people every day. The concept is very simple. The website is used
by people to find and give away things in their local communities. By distributing things to
other people who want them, Freecyclehelps keep “junk” out of landfills. From time to time,
people ask for items that they think someone else might want to get rid of. If they find the
item they are looking for, they can avoid making an unnecessary purchase. Both the items
that are requested and the ones that are offered are all ways free of charge.

The organization was founded in 2003 by Deron Beal in Tucson, Arizona. It was created to
help both community members and the environment. The group is now a worldwide network
that is growing day by day. You can join Freecycleby signing up online—and of course, its
membership is free. Volunteers monitor the local networks.

Adverb phrases are groups of words that have the same function in a sentence as simple
adverbs. For example, they can describe time or tell (1) __________ something happened.

us about the manner or (4) __________ and the purpose or (5) __________ something is
done.
