Personal Profile
I have recently achieved NCEA Level II and aim for full-time employment in the graphic design
industry or to become a qualified youth worker. I love the arts and have participated in many
productions and international hardcore music shows over the past 2 years. Over this time I have
garnered a love of people and the lessons I can learn off every one of them and in doing so I have
enabled myself to become a leader in arts among my peers. My strengths are my dedication to any
job that I am given as I may learn and grow from the experience and my ability to listen to others. I
can pick up skills very quickly as I am a dedicated member of any team.

Key Skills

Team work
 I helped organise, with many members of the local youth community, the 2010 tour for my band which
involved many hours of meeting and planning. Taking ideas from what the group said, we created a
North Island tour of 11 dates which ran from December 2010 through to January 2011. This required
everyone to work as a cohesive group and has taught me the skills of growth from tough times and to
listen to others when a task is set so everyone may profit from the experience.
 I am an active member of the growing local hardcore community setting up shows, helping local bands
get a leg up into the spotlight and bringing international musical acts to New Zealand.

Time management
 Tight deadlines with my NCEA Level 1 and 2 subjects meant that I have had to manage my time to make
sure that I get all my work done.
 In my final year of school, I had a lot of extracurricular activities to balance with my school work which
taught me to prioritise and execute with thought and understanding.

Focused and willing to learn

 I have a great thirst for knowledge and experience in any industry.
 I am very willing to learn from my workmates and to use that knowledge to get a better understanding
of the placement I am hired in.
 I wish to see what the world has in store and am eager to try new things.

Reliable
 Excellent attendance record at school over four years.
 Always on time and ready to work.

Employment History

July 2008 – June 2009 Dominos Pizza

Massey, Waitakere
Hired in July 2008 as a Customer Services Representative, my main duties were taking care of the
ordering process, both through phone and on site. I undertook food preparation courses for the
first 5 months in store before being promoted to being able to prepare and at times run the food
preparation line, in this position I managed a group of people having to be in sync with one
another to achieve a common goal efficiently and quickly. The job at times required me to clean
and prepare the store for the next day, closing with the managers of the store many times in my
placement. At this store I learnt team management skills dealing with the rush of customers in a
calm and controlled manner, relating with the large variation of people who came into the store. I
often took extra work when it was available to me. When leaving this job I came away with over
1000 hours of customer relations training.
December 2008 - Present Zeal Waitakere (Trust)

Zeal Waitakere is a youth centre focusing on giving oppotunities to the mass of youth in the area.
I often help set up shows for the centre, this requires me to relate and assist people coming in
from out of town areas and help others in the particular area of sound they are learning about
such as sound engineering, stand hand or show management. In relation to this role I travel
around the north island lending out sound gear and playing in shows. I volunteer on a regular basis
helping out with such things as shows and upcoming events on their calender, this may be
anything from private functions to environmental projects such as Project Twin Streams. The mix
of ethnicities and cultures that flow through the doors has given me a unique outlook into the
world, becoming an open and friendly person who people know they may come to for help and
can trust with knowledge of a private nature.

Interests

 I have played the guitar since I was 9 years old and enjoy playing it in my band which lets me express
myself in a passive way.
 I love meeting new people; the youth centre I spend most of my days at has granted me the
opportunity to meet hundreds of likeminded individuals and has afforded me a love of helping others
and the belief of understanding people before I judge them.
 I have recently picked up skateboarding and love meeting the community that has evolved around this
sport. Wherever I travel I learn new tricks off the friends that I meet.
