NPC on Tuesday said the Philippine Identification System or (PhilSys) will bear security measures

lawmakers expressed concern over the ID system's data security, saying it could be hacked or
used to quell dissent.
"Safeguards on the PhilSys are also embedded in the bill. (Specific agencies are) required to
implement reasonable and appropriate organizational, technical, and physical security measures
to ensure the protection of information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure," it said in a
statement.
