Adventus airlines is a new domestic airline in United states and wants to get its own travel
management software. The airline will use the software for ticket and check-in
management, ticket booking portal as well as loyalty management program.

Norita software solutions Inc has been contracted to develop the software. Norman is the
business analyst for the project. Norman has created the use case model for the check-in
features and is shown below.

Norman also wanted to represent the association between the use cases and so showed the
following relationship. This diagram basically represents the parent-child relationship.

Answer: A) This is the only possible answer. “printing of boarding pass” is included in the
check-in use case and is hence mandatory. “printing of boarding pass” is not a special case
as we use extend for showing special cases.

Question-2

Answer: B. These two types of customers are different from how they interact with the
proposed system. They don’t share a parent-child relationship.

Question-3

Answer : D). Walk-in customers never interact with the software system. Check-in counter
staff does all the activities on behalf of the walk-in customers. User of business service
(walk-in customer) is different from the user of the system.

Question-4

Answer : C). As the entity relation shows a Zero on both ends, it is clear that none of the
entities is mandatory or required. So Option A and B are incorrect. Option C is true as name
can exist even if there is no address. P259 BABOK.

Question-5

Answer : B). Even though it might sound illogical but use case diagram does not show any
relationship between (deposit funds) and open account. So, we can't infer from the diagram
that opening of account is required for depositing funds.

Question-6

Answer : C). P34, Level of power of influence Section: If there is a mismatch between the
influence required and the amount of influence the stakeholder has or is perceived to have,
business analysts develop risk plans, responses and other strategies that might be needed
to obtain the required level of support.

Answer: D). Traceability approach is planned during the business information management
planning and the output of this activity is "Information Management Approach". So this
document needs to be modified.

Answer: A). This is clearly an assumption that may become a risk. P 122 Section 6.3.4.2
clearly states that assumptions sometimes should be managed as risks.

Question-10

Correct option 'C'---This is as per BABOK KA----Requirement Analysis and Design definition,
task - Analyze potential value and recommend a solution. Although the new change may
make working processes more streamlined and may bring more monetary savings, but as
major section of stakeholders are against the change for the fear of losing their jobs in the
Organization, they will definitely resist hard to not to implement the change and thus the
change will not get desired benefits. <br/> So, the organization, need to work towards
making them ready and convinced before starting the project.
