Tutorial Sheet - 7 2020

The document provides 7 tutorial problems involving the design of electronic circuits: 1. Calculate the output of the circuit in Figure 1 given component values. 2. Design a phase shift oscillator operating at 100 kHz using given capacitor value and selecting resistor values. 3. Determine the ratio of resistors needed for oscillations in a Wein's Bridge oscillator and design one operating at 100 MHz. 4. Design a signal generator using a 555 timer circuit to provide pulse rates of 100 kHz, 10 kHz, and 1 kHz with constant duty cycle.

2. Design a phase shift oscillator as shown in Fig.2 to operate at 100 KHz. Let C= 100 pF
and select appropriate values for R, RF and RA.

3. Design the ratio of RF to RA to meet the conditions for oscillations of the Wein’s Bridge
Oscillator. Determine the expression of frequency of oscillation. Design the oscillator at
100 MHz using R = 10 kΩ.

4. Design a signal generator using a 555 timer circuit in the astable mode to provide pulse
rates of 100 kHz, 10 kHz, and 1 kHz. Keep the duty cycle constant.

5. Design a circuit using 555 timer to generate a pulse train of variable frequency. The
pulse width be kept 100µsec. The frequency can be varied from 1kHz to 100Hz.

6. Design a pulse delay circuit to provide a 15 msec delay for a pulse input whose duration
is 1msec as shown in Fig.3

7. Design a warning alarm signal that generates 2 kHz pulse train. The pulse train is turned
ON and OFF 30 times each minute. The time ON is approximately equal to time OFF.
