Questions:

1. Give the definition of Internal Recruitment.

Internal recruiting is the process of identifying and attracting candidates to another position
within the same organization.

1
2. Compare and contrast a closed internal recruitment system with an open internal
recruitment system.

The difference between a closed internal recruitment system and an open internal
recruitment system is the number of employees who are told about the vacancy. In a closed
system, only a few handpicked candidates are told about the position. In an open system,
everyone in the company is made aware of the vacancy.

3. Write short notes on the following recruitment sources:

(a) Job posting

A job posting is an external advertisement of your open job position which purpose is to
attract candidates. It is written in an engaging tone and it contains information not only about
the job position but also about your company and the benefits you offer.

(b) Talent Management System

A talent management system is an integrated software suite that addresses the "four pillars"
of talent management: recruitment; performance management; learning and development;
and compensation management.

(c) In-House Temporary Pools

A temporary employee hired directly by a company, rather than through a staffing firm, to
perform various “temporary” assignments at that company as part of an “in-house pool.”

(d) Replacement and Succession Plans

Succession planning is a strategy for passing on leadership roles often the ownership of a
company to an employee or group of employees. Also known as "replacement planning," it
ensures that businesses continue to run smoothly after a company's most important people
move on to new opportunities, retire, or pass away.

(e) Career Development Centres

Provide employees with opportunities to take interest inventories, assess their personal
career goals, and interview with representatives across the organization

4. Explain what a Recruitment Guide is.

The Recruitment Guide also called recruitment manual is the perfect tool for managers in the
organization for hiring a new employee. Managers need to keep their units and departments
staffed with the skilled employees, and they have to move employees internally.
