Lexia: Lexia Core5 Reading (Grade Levels: Y5-5)
Lexia: Lexia Core5 Reading (Grade Levels: Y5-5)
Lexia will serve as the primary ELA tool. Lexia is an adaptive learning tool that assesses students without testing.
Schools will utilize two different programs within Lexia for literacy improvement:
- Lexia Core5 Reading (Grade levels: Y5-5).
- Lexia PowerUp Literacy (Grade levels: 6-8).
Lexia data and reports can be accessed in myLexia. All teachers have access to myLexia through Clever. Core5
and PowerUp reports will be located on separate tabs.
Measures:
- Performance Predictor: myLexia provides a performance predictor, categorized by risk category,
representing the student’s percent chance of reaching their end-of-year grade level benchmark.
o Performance Predictor: Percent chance of reaching end-of-year grade level benchmark.
o Risk Category:
On Target: Student has a 80–100% chance of reaching the end-of-year benchmark for his
or her grade level. A student with 100% has already reached the grade-level benchmark.
Some Risk: Student has a 31–79% chance of reaching end-of-year benchmark.
High Risk: Student has a 1–30% chance of reaching end-of-year benchmark.
o Note: Available one month after the student starts using Core5. Students must complete at least
one instruction step in a Core5 unit in order to receive a Predictor. Percentages are updated at the
start of each month.
- Prescription Intensity: Based on each student’s Performance Predictor, myLexia provides a Prescription
of Intensity needed to increase the probability of the student reaching the end-of-year grade level
benchmark. The prescribed intensity includes:
o Usage Target: Recommended number of minutes the student should use Lexia each week.
o Units Target: The number of units a student should aim to complete in a week in order to drive
the student towards their end of year grade level benchmark.
- Usage & Progress:
o Total Minutes Usage: Number of minutes the student used Lexia in a given week.
o Units Gained: The number of units a student completed in a given week.
myLexia Reports:
myLexia contains several reports to ensure fidelity and monitor academic growth. All reports are available at the
NHA level, school level, grade level, and class level.
- Progress Reports:
o Progress:
Percent of students working Above, In, or Below Grade Level of Material (GLM).
Grouped by where students started the school year and where students are currently.
o Progress by Usage:
Average number of skills or units gained per student in this school year, broken down by
if the student is meeting or not meeting usage target.
Allows you to analyze the power of the program for students who are using it with
fidelity.
o Performance Predictors: Likelihood of meeting end-of-year, grade-level benchmark. Grouped by
risk level (On Target, Some Risk, High Risk).
- Fidelity Reports:
o Usage: Number and percentage of students who met their recommended usage targets in the
previous month.
o Staff: Percent of staff logged in past 30 days.
