Introduction
History is the study of social life in the past, in all its aspects, of new
developments and future expectations. It's the story of a man in time, an investigation of
the past based on facts. Indeed, the proof is the raw material of teaching and studying
history. It's a survey of what happened in the past, when it happened, and how it
happened. It is an investigation into the inevitable developments in human relations in
the past and how these developments shape, impact, or decide society's ways of life.
History is, or should be, an effort to rethink the past. Collingwood (1945) has a special
interest in this idea of history.
This module will allow you to understand the significance of history. Past usually
falls into five categories: linear: cyclic, spiral, turbulent, eclectic. As also the importance
of history and the study of history.

History is the history of the past of humanity. History carefully tracks and
describes what people felt, wrote, and did. Past is concerned with social, political, and

Answer: History assists us with getting change and how the general public we

1. What are the sources of history?
Answer: Historical source (also known as historical material or historical data) is
original source that contain important historical information. These sources are
something that inform us about history at the most basic level, and these sources
used as clues in order to study history.
Historical sources include documents, artifacts, archaeological sites, features.
oral transmissions, stone inscriptions, paintings, recorded sounds, images
(photographs, motion picture), and oral history. Even ancient relics and ruins,
broadly speaking, are historical sources

2. How do they help in writing history?


Answer: History was written to serve as a lesson to new generations. It helps
them know what should they avoid to not repeat what happened in the history.
And it also gives them knowledge on what action should be made if history
repeat itself in the present situations.
3. Give different kinds of primary and secondary sources.
Answer: = Primary sources provide raw information and first-hand evidence.
Examples include interview transcripts, statistical data, and works of art. A
primary source gives you direct access to the subject of your research.
= Secondary sources provide second-hand information and
commentary from other researchers. Examples include journal articles, reviews,
and academic books. A secondary source describes, interprets, or synthesizes
primary sources.
