1. “Do good; avoid evil” is the foundation of moral principle. List at least 5 good things that you
have to do as a teacher and evil things you have to avoid doing.
2. The Golden Rule for Christians is: “Do to others what you would like others to do to you.”
Give a concrete application of the Golden Rule as you relate to a learner, to a fellow teacher, to
a parent or any member of the community and to your superiors.
To a learner:
I must show a student that respect is earned, not given. I will respect them as a person
and as a learner. I will not impose to them how to respect me just because I am their teacher,
instead I will show to them how worthy I am to be respected.
To a fellow teacher:
Being a teacher is indeed not an easy job. Showing appreciation to my fellow teacher
about the things they have accomplished through our profession will give them light and might
inspire them to do more and to strive hard.
To a parent:
As a teacher, I have to make sure that a parent is feeling secured about how I do teach
and discipline their children. I will show them how my job matters to me by giving them
assurance how I handle their children in class.
To any member of the community:
Aside from being a teacher, I can be a volunteer, too. I will lead by example through
being a leader of a youth organization of the church. Through this, I can show them the
importance of service and how we should give back through our little ways, as an individual or
even as a group.
To my superiors:
I will show to them how capable, efficient and obedient I am under their supervision.
Respecting my superiors through trusting their leadership will help us, the both parties to grow
individually and even as colleagues at work.
3. Take care of your thoughts, they become your actions; take care of your actions, they
become your habit; take care of your habits, they become your character; take care of your
character, it becomes your destiny!
The text means that in life, we are responsible of how we think, act and reflect.
Sometimes, the way we think or the way we see and perceive about things tells us who we are
as a person. We must live having our reason and emotion balanced and harmonized at the
same time.
