1. WHAT CAN YOU SAY ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES AS A STATE?


 The state as a person of international law should possess the qualifications:
People, Territory, Government, and Sovereignty. A state is an organization of
human beings living together as a community. The population of a state
comprises all individuals in principle in habit the territory in a permanent way.
The Philippines and its population need to be completely homogeneous in culture,
language, race or otherwise. The functions of State, a political and legal
community of human beings, must first of all exercised by given territory. The
government is the executive branch of the state and has the role to administer of
the state. Sovereignty is the quality of having supreme, independent authority
over a territory. So that Philippines is a state because Philippines embodied the
four elements of state.

2. HOW TO BECOME A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN IN THE PHILIPPINES? EXPLAIN.


There are many ways to become a natural born citizen in Philippines, as long as it’s legal
and it’s not against the law, its valid.
The following are citizens of the Philippines based on 1987 constitution:
 Those who are citizens of the Philippines at the time of the adoption of this Constitution.
 Those whose fathers or mothers are citizens of the Philippines.
 Those born before January 17, 1973, of Filipino mothers, who elect Philippine citizenship
upon reaching the age of majority.
 And those who are naturalized in accordance with law.
There are also modes in acquiring Philippine citizenship:
 Jus soli (right of soil) which is the legal principle that a person’s nationality at birth is
determined by the place of birth (e.g. the territory of a given state)
 Jus sanguinis (right of blood) which is the legal principle that, at birth, an individual
acquires the nationality of his/her natural parent/s. The Philippine adheres to this
principle.
 Filipino by naturalization which is the judicial act of adopting a foreigner and clothing
him with the privileges of a native-born citizen. It implies the renunciation of a former
nationality and the fact of entrance into a similar relation towards a new body politic
(2Am.Jur.561,par.188).

3. DO YOU THINK THAT THE PHILIPPINES LITERALLY HAVE SOVEREIGNTY


OVER ITS JURISDICTION? WHY OR WHY NOT?
 YES, Because the Sovereignty of the Philippines alludes to the status of the
Philippines as an autonomous country Power is the nature of having
incomparable, free authority over a region. It tends to be found in a capacity to
decide and make law that lays on a political truth for which no simply legitimate
clarification can be given. A sovereign state is a political relationship with viable
interior and outside sway over a geographic region and populace which isn't
reliant on, or subject to some other force or state.
