2.1.2 Compare educational models and explain how they impact the classroom

2.1.1 Explain the impact of constructivism on the learning

environment,instruction,learning activities and assessment

2.1.2 describe the shift from instructor-led to learner-directed education

2.1.3 Explain the nature of learning and its relationship to emerging pedagogies

Teaching comes in all different ways, some ideas in how to teach a certain lesson based

on how the students learn. All based on four educational models will help teachers with ideas on

what to do so their students can have different ways of learning the lesson.

The chart above shows the different types of models that teachers can use. Going into

more depth starting with Student Led learning. Student-led is giving the opportunity to let your

students work in groups or pairs, this lets the students lead so they are able to help one another

with what they misunderstood letting other students who understood help out their peers. The

idea of Student Led learning went along with the theorists shown on the chart, most of them

focusing on what is being taught should be relevant to students lives, meaning students should

remember and by remembering such knowledge they should be having fun while learning and

building a better understanding. The strategies shown for example, cooperative learning

meaning everyone is engaged and staying focused and wanting to learn, this could happen in a

whole class discussion, a group, or even partners with the students leading the discussion so

that everyone is participating so that the students can understand more of the subject being

taught.

Next on the chart is Teacher Led. Teacher Led learning is more of the natural learning

models. A teacher will stand in front of the class and teach. Teachers use this model the most

because it can be used to help to get to know the students more along with building that

relationship, it also helps them when using differentiation into their lesson plans because they

can talk to the students more so that they can get to know and understanding where the

students stand on their learning habits and what works for them when they are trying to learn

something new. With the strategies shown on the chart they are almost the same idea. The top

four are helpful for the teacher with differentiation, all students have different ways they learn

and the strategies above can help with ideas on helping your students learn best.

Student AND Teacher Led learning, a collaborative way of teaching, meaning the

student and teacher work together so that they are getting the best learning experience and

understanding what is going on. Making goals is a very important strategy, you help me I help

you way, making goals will help your students work harder to achieve this goal, making sure the

goal is being reached teachers can do daily check ups, everyday progress checks, etc. This
model type goes well with bloom's taxonomy especially because you are learning to understand.

Teachers will teach a lesson and students will then apply it, learning to understand.

Lastly, response to intervention which is helping the students who have a little more of a

harder time learning than the other students. Bloom's taxonomy also goes along with learning to

understand, these types of studenting will need a little extra help than others with the strategies

shown the the chart helps teachers to help those students get where the need to be more

strategies could be, extra time or test or homework, letting them work with student who

understand the lesson a little more, you as a teacher checking in on them and as well as setting

goal with them to help them get where they need to be.

Students learning is the most important to a teacher because it shows the teacher they

are doing things right. The models are a big part as well it helps a teacher because they can

have different ideas on what they should do that day for the lesson in order to help their

students.
