There is no specific weight-age for any topic. Joining a coaching institute may not help
much. Instead of paying a hefty amount for the same, focus on strengthening your
concepts. As advised by Kapil Kanungo, get your NCERTs sorted (Mathematics, std. VI-
XII). For Quantative Aptitude, refer to some standard book like RS Agarwal. For Verbal
Ability, refer to Wren & Martin or some primer like Mcgraw Hill or Pearson. You will get
most of this material free of cost online.
Solve plethora of Mock Tests. Practice a lot of questions. You can get the sample
questions here http://www.iimidr.ac.in/wp-content/uploads/IPMSample_Paper17.pdf
If you are extraordinary at any of the two sections, you stand a good chance!
Since there is 60% weight-age for Aptitude Test, a decent score is necessary.
For the recent batch, an Aptitude Test Score of 50+ was sufficient to get a call for
Interview.

Interview :

Given that you have cleared the Aptitude Test, you will be called for interview after 3-4
weeks. You may not be grilled much, since for most of you, it will be the first interview
ever!

Most of my friends were asked about Mathematical and Physical concepts. But in my
case, I was mostly asked about Biology, since I had scored highest marks in Biology.
Since they asked me about Biology, (which seems irrelevant in IPM) I reckon that the
panelists are rather interested in screening your confidence. Prepare well for the subject
in which you have scored maximum marks (in boards).

The most interesting part was, for about 4-5 minutes, all the questions asked to me were
related to my name and my father's name. I was also asked about 'Mumbai Dabawallas’
and ‘Warkari Samaj’ which was quite unexpected.

Most obvious question: Your Hobby? Think twice before you answer! Since mine was
sketching, I was asked sketch one of the panelists within 4 mintues (I did it, and they
were convinced. I was also made to draw the map of Maharashtra (My interview was in
Mumbai).

I was asked to list capitals of all the seven sister states in North-East. You need to be
aware of the current affairs.

Expect anything to be asked. Grab umpteen General Knowledge.

Best of luck :)
See you @ Planet-I.

Edit 1 : Please do not message me to ask anything that I have 'already answered'.

Edit 2 : Aptitude Test Score is not out of 400. IIM Indore does not reveal total score.

n my opinion, in addition to the 11-12th standard book, one should also go for TWO
books developed by Duenorth Academics:

(a) Pearson Guide to IIM Indore IPM (Author - Duenorth Academics) - Its a complete
guide for this exam.
(b) IIM Indore IPM Test Series (Author - Duenorth Academics) - It is a Test Series
containing Test Papers, qualifying marks etc.

To get these books, just search IIM Indore IPM on amazon..
