Grease Interceptor Selection

 Single Sink

 To determine the flow rate of each sink

 VOL. = length * width * depth = X (in3)

 Gpm = X / 231 = Y

 Actual Gpm = Y * 0.75

Grease Interceptor Selection

 Example

 Three compartment pot sink , each compartment

12” X 12” X 15”

 VOL. = 2160 (in3) * 3(Comp.) = 6480 in3

 6480/231 = 28 gpm

 28 * 0.75 = 21 gpm
Grease Interceptor Selection

 Sink 1 = 35 gpm
 Sink 2 = 26 gpm
 Sink 3 = 18 gpm
 Sink 4 = 12 gpm

 35 * 100% = 35 gpm
 26 * 50% = 13 gpm
 30 * 25% = 7.5 gpm
 TOT. = 55.5 gpm

 Data: 10 W.C, 20 LAVT., 15 Shower

 Req. Sump Pump Capacity, Pit Volume

 Sol.

 Total DFU = 10*5 + 20*1 + 15*2 = 100 DFU

 100 DFU is equal 40 gpm (from chart)

 Volume = 40 * 2 = 80 gallon *1.2 safety = 96 gallon
