Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

 Acquire new vocabulary related to the topic of the unit


 Match words related to humor to their definitions.

5mns Warm up: T greets Ss.
7 mns Review of gerund and infinitive verbs.

20mns Presentation:
Picture and quote exploration: T asks Ss to open the textbook page 20-21 for the
beginning of the Unit. T asks Ss to describe the pictures. Pic1: Mr Bean, pic2:
Charlie Chaplin, pic3: Rachida Khalil, pic4: Gad Elmaleh.
T: what can you say about these people?
Ss: they are famous, talented, stars, actors in cinema.
T: what is common between them?
Ss: they make people laugh.
what are some of the ways they use to make others laugh?
Through telling jokes, stories, body movements, and caricature
T: yes, very good, so the theme of this new unit is humor. T writes it on B.B.
T draws a mind map as follows:

T asks Ss to turn the page and read the expressions, exercise 1 and classify
them from the most to the least humorous for you. T explains some new voc
like sitcom; she asks Ss what kind of sitcoms they know? If Ss know some on
Moroccan TV and when they show them most?
Ss: in Ramadan.
Ss talk about their preferences: TV sitcoms, jokes, caricatures and cartoons,
comedy films and things that happen to classmates.

Ss answer exercise 2: Ss match the words with their definitions, thing


that will serve them to fill in the blanks later.
Step 2 Key:
15 mns A 1, B 5, C 6, D 2, E 7, F 3, G 8, H 4
Later Ss do activity n°3 using the words from activity 2.

Step 3 Activity 4: Ss classify the words to express feelings and emotions as
