Day 4 Session was facilitated by Ms. Roxanne P. Landicho, Ms. Jobelle S. Profugo and
Ms. Gemma P. Titular wherein it started with the checking of attendance, an opening prayer and
the singing of Makabayan song. Then, Ms. Landicho clearly recapitulated the previous
discussion on Module 3A by showing pictures and highlighting the key words and ideas like the
different LDMs (Learning Delivery Modalities), how to design lessons and assessments as well
as guiding and monitoring learners in the different LDMs. Later, everyone in the group was
inspired by the food for thought shared by Ms. Profugo which says that with God, nothing is
impossible. Afterwards, to motivate the members, the facilitators gave tricky questions to be
answered by everyone and the member who would have the greatest number of correct answers
would win. Everybody enjoyed answering the questions and Ms. Lirio P. Librea won the game.

After the short opening program for the session, the discussion proper followed where
Ms. Mellanie R. Corachea, the LAC Leader, started the discussion by asking the members to
answer the question: “As a teacher, what difference can you make in the face of the New Normal

that could possibly motivate other teachers?” Each member gave their heartwarming responses
to the question. Ms. Norlyn T. Mendoza, one of the members, said that she would adapt and
adjust with all the changes in this new normal, while Ms. Maricel F. Mabiling, another member,
retorted that the difference she could possibly make is to add, multiply, and divide herself to
reach and hand her help to others. On the other hand, Ms. Corachea was very impressed by all
the answers given by the members. It only shows that all of them were setting a positive mindset
for the success of every session they had.

After the sharing of insights regarding the question, the group activity followed wherein
Ms. Corachea gave the tasks to be accomplished by each group. Module 3B, which talks about
the Learning Resources, is divided into three lessons. Lesson 1: Learning Resource Maps for
Distance Learning was assigned to Group 1 wherein it has two activities. On the other hand,
Lesson 2: Accessing Learning Resources from DepEd Portals was given to Group 2 and it has
also two activities. Lastly, Lesson 3: Assessing the LR Materials was designated to Group 3
wherein this is composed of four activities. Each group was then given 45 minutes to prepare
their output.

Afterwards, the reporting and presenting of outputs started. Group 1identified the
Learning Resources adopted by the school, which according to them, were the following: self-
learning module, online and offline activity sheets. The group was also able to discuss the needs
and concerns of the LRs in school, and they gave possible solutions to resolve these needs and
concerns wherein according to them, parents and learners’ cooperation and the support given by
the stakeholders are relevant in providing the needs in maximizing the use of the DepEd portals.

Group 2, on the other hand, discussed the ways on how to access to the DepEd portals
(such as DepEd Commons and LRMDS) available for the teachers and identified some
challenges in utilizing such portals. According to them, ICT coordinators, school heads and other
stakeholders who have wide knowledge on how to access these LR portals could be of great help
to both learners and teachers. They have a big role in establishing access to these LR DepEd
portals.

The last group who presented were Group 3, wherein the discussion focused on assessing
the quality of the LR materials from both DepEd and Non-DepEd portals using a tool called LR

Rapid Assessment Tool. They also had comparisons of the materials wherein they identified that
when it comes to the reproduction and distribution of materials, DepEd and Non-DepEd
materials differ. According to them, LRs from DepEd portals are easier to reproduce rather than
LRs from Non-DepEd portals. The group also enumerated the aspects to be considered in
choosing the appropriate LRs to the learners, which are the following: must be connected and
relevant to the MELCs; must be appropriate to the grade level and learner characteristics in terms
of language, activities; must be easy to reproduce and/or disseminate; must be from a credible
source/author; must be culture- and gender-fair; must be free from red flags on possible
copyright and plagiarism issues; and the layout and format must be easy to read and pleasing to
the eyes.

Lastly, Ms. Corachea gave her comments and feedback regarding the activity. Everybody
was glad to hear that all were doing great. Now, the members are ready to move to Modules 4
and 5.
