Things to Know About the A22 Pro

Due to the compact design, it is normal that the surface will get hot under working. Please
make sure that there is enough air space around the item. The camera is not waterproof.

What's Included

Charging

1. Please fully charge the camera for around 4 hours before use.
2. Please use 5V/1A charger (Not included).
3. The red light will be on while charging and it will be off when the charging is completed.

Tips:
● Please use the offered USB charging cables to charge the camera. For extra long
cable you need to check if the quality is good enough before you buy, or it may not be able
to charge the camera properly.

Insert a card

The side of the card with the golden contact points should be towards the lens side.
Please push slightly till it snaps into place.

Tips:
● You can also use the camera without memory card, but you will only be able to save
recordings to your phone/tablet or cloud storage.
● Insert a 8GB to 128GB Micro SD Card (Not included. Please buy separately.)
● Please make sure that the camera is off when you insert or remove the card.

Tips:
● AP Mode indicates that your phone is connected to the camera's own hotspot.
● WiFi Mode indicates that the camera is connected to your router WiFi.
● To change the camera from WiFi Mode to AP Mode, please reset the camera.

Reset the Camera

Here is how to reset the camera properly:

Step 1. Turn on the camera. Wait for a few moments till you see the green light flashes or
stays steady.

Step 2. Hold the Reset button for about five seconds till the blue and green lights off. The
lights will be off for a few seconds while the camera is resetting, then on by itself, which
indicates that the resetting is successful.

App Installation

Method 1. Search HIDVCAM in the Apple App Store (iOS devices) or Google Play Store
(Android devices) to download the App HIDVCAM.
Method 2. Scan this QR code to download the App HIDVCAM for iOS or Android devices

Phone Wireless Data to the App

Please confirm if the phone (iPhone or Android phone) allows the App HIDVCAM to use
Wireless Data.
Take iPhone for example, go to phone Settings page >> hit HIDVCAM >> hit Wireless
Data >> choose WLAN & Cellular Data
App Permissions

Open the HIDVCAM App, the phone will prompt:-


1. “HIDVCAM” would like to find and connect to devices on your local
network. >> Hit OK
(Tips: Local Network Permission is for discovering and connecting
to the network your device uses)
2. “HIDVCAM” Would Like to Access Your Photos >> Choose Select
Photos or Allow Access to All Photos
(Tips: Photos Permission is for shots and videos taken manually saved to the photo
library)
3. “HIDVCAM” Would Like to Send you Notifications >> Hit Allow
(Tips: Notifications Permission is for receiving motion activated push alerts)
4. Allow “HIDVCAM” to use your location >> Choose Allow While Using App
(Tips: Location Permission is for accessing the nearest hotspot of the camera starting
with IPC )
App Registration & Login

Method 1: Hit Register. Input email address, click on Get the code to receive the 6-digit
verification code. Please check your mailbox including trash file for the code. Come back
to the App and input the code. Create a password and then click on Register.
Method 2: Use your Facebook, Twitter or Line account to log in.

Tips:
● After login, it will generate a unique 7-digit User ID. Touch Me, you will see the User ID.
Turn on the Camera

Press the On/Off button for around 2 – 3 seconds till the blue and green lights are on.

Tips:
● The camera will be automatically on when plugged in to power source.
● If the camera is plugged in, please unplug the camera first and then press the On/Off
button to turn off the camera.

Connect to the Camera’s Own Hotspot

Step 1. After turning on the camera, wait for a few moments. When you see the green
indicator light flashes, please access the Wi-Fi settings of your phone and locate the
hotspot of the camera starting with IPC (i.e. IPC-26300009566). (Note: If the green light
stays steady instead of flashing, please reset the camera.)

Step 2. Switch to the IPC hotspot so as to get your phone connected to the camera. (It’s
normal your phone will be off the Internet when connected to the IPC hotspot.)

Tips:
● Each camera comes with its unique IPC hotspot (i.e. IPC-26300009566).
● If the IPC hotspot doesn’t appear in the WiFi settings of your phone, please get the
camera plugged in to power source and reset the camera, or please check and adjust the
Advanced Wi-Fi Settings on your phone which may block the IPC hotspot.
● It’s normal that some deivces may show the IPC hotspot as ‘Unsecured Network’ or
‘Connected but no Internet’. Because the IPC hotspot has no password and your phone
will be off the Internet when connected to the IPC hotspot (After connecting the camera to
your router WiFi the IPC hotspot will disappear).

Add a Camera

Open the app. The camera should be added automatically in the app(If not, swipe
downwards to refresh). The camera should show Online now.

Tips:
● Please choose 'Keep Trying WLAN' if you are prompted 'The WLAN network
IPC-xxxxxxxxxx does not appear to be connected to the Internet'.
● If the camera fails to be added automatically or shows Offline, please go back to the
Wi-Fi settings of your phone to make sure if your phone is still connected to the hotspot of
the camera.
● When your phone is connected to the hotspot of the camera, if the camera still shows
Offline, please try to turn off Mobile Data Network in the settings of your phone and start
over. You can turn it back on after completing the whole setup.
● It says 'Currently in AP mode and cannot access the Internet' which is normal and just
indicates that you just connect your phone to the IPC hotspot and have not yet connected
the camera to your router WiFi.
Connect Camera to Router Wi-Fi

Step 1. Please choose Confirm when you are prompted to connect the camera to router
Wi-Fi (If no router WiFi to connect, choose Cancel). (Note: If you are not prompted to
connect the camera to router WiFi, you can hit Gear icon in the App. Choose Network.)

Step 2. Now you'll be prompted to create a password for the camera. It’s a must to do that
now (Please remember the password you create as it will be needed after configuring the
camera with Wi-Fi).

Step 3. Wait a few moments. It will automatically scan available Wi-Fi nearby and then you
will see a list of Wi-Fi networks in the area. If your router WiFi doesn’t display in the list,
please touch the Refresh icon to refresh till it shows up. Choose your router WiFi from the
list. The SSID field will be automatically filled out (Please do not input SSID field manually).
Input the password of your router WiFi. Touch Confirm.

Step 4. Now you just wait for about one minute. The ‘Currently in App mode and cannot
access the Internet’ will disappear. It may say ‘Network unconnected’. Please disregard it.
After one minute, please swipe downwards to refresh and the camera will show Online
again.
Tips:
● This WiFi camera only supports 2.4Ghz router WiFi. .
● Please make sure that you input the right password of your router WiFi. If wrong
please reset the camera and then reconnect.
● The IPC hotspot will disappear from the Wi-Fi Settings of your phone and the green
light will stay steady from flashing if you connect the camera to router Wi-Fi successfully.
● If you fail to connect the camera to router WiFi successfully, please check if the Wi-Fi
settings Security Type on your router may be set to WEP. If yes, please change it to WPA2
and start over.

Get the Camera Bound

With the camera Online, touch the Play icon to live stream, you will be prompted to input
the password you created earlier for the camera. With that done now the camera will show
Bound and now you are able to remotely view or control the camera from anywhere.
Tips: ● If you forget the password you created for the camera, please reset the camera
and start over.

① Record: Start/Stop real time recording manually

② Indicator: Turn on/off all the indicator LEDs

③ IR Light: Turn on/off night vision

④ FHD: Change resolution to FHD or UHD

⑤ Full: View video in full screen

⑥ Rotate: Flip vertical

⑦ Four View: View in 1/4 screen

⑧Activity Zones: Set the motion detection areas

⑨ Voice: Turn on/off the microphone

⑩ Shot: Save a video screenshot

Settings on App

When the HIDVCAM app shows the camera as online, touch the Gear icon in the App.

Camera ID - Each camera comes with a unique ID.

Share Device - Authorize other user IDs to access the camera. Input the User ID and
touch Search. Then select what administrative rights are available for the User ID. Touch
Confirm.

Device Name - Change the name of the camera as you want.

Password - Change the password of the camera.

Intelligent Settings - Adjust the sensitivity for the motion sensor among the three levels:
High, Meddle and Low

Alarm
Detection Alarm - Tap it to turn on/off detection alarm

Alarm time - You can have detection alarm work for 24 hours(all day) or make a schedule
for it.

Please make sure to touch Confirm to save any of your changes.


SD Card Recording
Check the memory card capacity and remaining space. If you do not insert a TF Card, it
will show No SD card detected.

To format the card, touch Format TF card, you will be prompted if to format the card or
not. Choose Confirm.

Choose a recording mode: Motion, Loop or Schedule (based on timed recording you set).
The default is loop recording for the SD card. You can change it to Motion or Schedule
recording as you want.

It is a must to touch Confirm each time you make a change.

Network
Configure the camera with your router WiFi (Please ensure that the camera is under AP
mode). It will automatically scan available Wi-Fi nearby and then you will see a list of Wi-Fi
networks in the area. Then you can also touch the Refresh icon to refresh if needed.
Choose your router WiFi from the list and the SSID filed will be filled out(Please do not
input SSID field manually). Input the password of your router WiFi. Touch Confirm. Now
you just need to wait for about one minute and then swipe downwards to refresh to get the
camera back Online. You will be able to live stream or control the camera remotely from
anywhere.

Time
Touch Synchronize with phone to update the date and time stamp.

Unbind
Scroll down and you will see Unbind at the bottom. Tap it to unbind the camera.

Motion Activated Push Notification

Step 1: Hit Alarm. Choose Alarm On, hit Confirm.


Step 2: Choose Me, then App settings. You can turn on/off Push Notification.

Add Multi Cameras

To add multi cameras, please do it one by one. Please just turn on one camera each time.
Set it up successfully as the above steps, then turn on the 2nd one and do the same to set
up. Then the 3rd one... and more.

No Router WiFi

If no router WiFi, you can connect your phone to the IPC hotspot to view or set but you
need to be near the camera in this way due to the hotspot range. The camera also works
as normal video recorder. Simple insert a card and the camera will automatically proceed
with loop recording by default. You can change the default loop to motion activated or
schedule recording in the App. You can also access the card to play back or download the
recordings in the App.

Play Recordings on Computer

You can access the SD card to view/download the recordings directly in the App. If you
want to play on computer, please take out the card and insert it to USB 2.0 card reader.
Then plug to your computer for playing. You can also transfer important files to your
computer for archiving.

FAQ

FAQ 1: Can I turn off the indicator lights?


A: Sure you can. Just hit the Indicator icon in the App to turn off all the indicator lights.

FAQ 2: Can I access the card to view the recordings in the App?
A: Yes. Simply hit the Rec/Play icon to play back or download the recordings in the App.
No bother to take out the card and play on computer.

FAQ 3: Why my camera is offline?


A: Possibly the battery runs out. Please plug the camera to power bank or AC power etc.
to have it stay on if needed (power bank may also run out).

FAQ 4: Can I use the camera without router Wi-Fi?


A: Sure. You can just insert a micro SD card to record. Meanwhile you can connect your
device to the hotspot to view or set but you need to be near the camera in this way. You
can also change the recording mode (loop, motion and schedule) for the SD Card
recording in the App.

FAQ 5: Why I cannot connect to the IPC hotspot?


A: Please unplug the camera and press On/Off button to turn off the camera. The press
On/Off button again to turn it back on.
FAQ 6: What should I do if the camera is dead?
A: Please press both the On/Off and Reset buttons at the same time to force stop the
camera. Then you can press the On/Off button to turn back on.

FAQ 7: What portable battery packs are compatible with this camera?
A: Those battery packs for phones are okay for this camera.

FAQ 8: Can I add multi cameras to the App?


A: Sure you can. One camera can support multiple users and one App can support
multiple cameras.

FAQ 9: Does the camera work with 5Ghz router WiFi?


A: As advertised the camera only works with 2.4ghz router WiFi. Most routers have dual
bands and you can choose 2.4Ghz band.

FAQ 10: Why the IPC hotspot doesn't appear in the WiFi settings of my phone?
A: Please get the camera plugged in and reset the camera. On the other hand, please
check if the Advanced Wi-Fi Settings on your phone which may block the IPC hotspot.

FAQ 11: How to activate the night vision?


A: With the light sensor, the night vision is automatic for this camera. You can also turn off
the night vision manually if not needed simply by hitting the IR Light icon and then
choosing 'Turn off night vision' in the App.

FAQ 12: What is IR Cut?


A: The camera A22 Pro is the first mini size camera coming with IR Cut (Infrared cut-off
filter) which is a mechanical shutter design. It is placed between the lens and the image
sensor, and is controlled by a motor. It is designed to block or deliver the infrared in order
to provide a true color reproduction high-quality image at day and night. You can disable
the IR Cut by hitting the IR Light icon and then choosing 'Turn off night vision' in the App.
