Final Psych 625 Statistics Project Part Two

The document discusses conducting a hypothesis test and two-group t-test on happiness and engagement data. The hypothesis is that workplace happiness has no direct influence of the employee's gender. A t-test was performed comparing the mean happiness scores of males and females. The t-test results showed a significant difference between the mean happiness scores of males and females, leading to a rejection of the null hypothesis that gender does not impact workplace happiness.

Statistics Project Part Two

For this portion of the Statistics Project we are tasked with creating a hypothesis for the

Happiness and Engagement Dataset that we used for last week’s portion of the Statistics Project.

Included below are both the Hypothesis as well as the Statistical Analysis of the information

included in last week’s portion of the assignment, as well as our sample t test.

Hypothesis

Using the data information provided by in the Happiness and Engagement data, a

dependable hypothesis would be that workplace happiness has no direct influence with gender of

the employee. The null hypothesis (H0) would be the gender of the employee does impact the

happiness in the workplace. The alternate hypothesis (H1) would be that gender does not impact

workplace happiness.

Statistical Analysis

With the data collected from the Happiness and Engagement data, the two variables of

gender and workplace happiness, I was able to come up with the hypothesis that gender has no

impact on workplace happiness. According to Jackson (2017) states that “A parametric

inferential statistical test of the null hypothesis for a single sample where the population variance

is not known” (p. 155).
